One perspective of cognitive rigor is the extent to which classroom instruction demands students to use critical thinking skills. As schools attempt to increase academic outcomes, one area of interest is the potential for engaging students in learning by increasing the use of critical thinking. The present study analyses the effect of critical thinking on student engagement in ninth-grade students.
In every human endeavor, it is wise to periodically disengage for a moment from the details of the task at hand, and from a wider perspective consider the whole. Just so, we propose a different sort of overview of robotics implementation in U.S. shipbuilding. Rather than produce yet another travelogue through the various red robots, the orange ones, the yellow ones, the green and the blue, we need to look at our present position compared with the whole journey. We also need to note some signs along the road.
Plate marking as currently practiced limits plasma arc cutting machine duty cycle. This, in turn, constrains plate fabrication process lane throughput. A separate automatic plate marking station which will significantly increase plasma arc cutting capacities is defined. A 60 to 100 percent increase in plate fabrication process lane throughput is anticipated while simultaneously reducing unit direct labor. The design is supported by technical feasibility demonstrations.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
