Chromosomes of the squirrel monkey (Saimiri
sciureus) are identified and described by specific C and G banding
patterns. Chromosomal polymorphism in Saimiri from different
geographic regions is further demonstrated as due to pericentric
inversion involving chromosome pairs B5 and Bll with C1 and C2.
