-008Transformation of the Defective Layered Structure into the Three-Dimensional Perovskite Structure under High Pressure.-The possibility of the transformation from a layered to a three-dimensional structure by preparing RbLaSrNb 2 MO 9 (M: Mg, Cu, Zn) under ambient pressure and high pressure (5 GPa) is explored. The compounds are synthesized from Rb 2 CO 3 , La 2 O 3 , SrCO 3 , Nb 2 O 5 , and MO by use of two different routes. For M: Mg and Zn, high pressure is required to form a single phase and neither a layer structure nor three-dimensionality is induced under normal conditions. The Cu compound has the defective layered structure under normal conditions and a three-dimensional one at high pressure. -(BYEON, S.-H.; KIM, H.; YOON, J.-J.; DONG, Y.; YUN, H.; INAGUMA, Y.; ITOH, M.; Chem. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
