The combination of wired and wireless technologies is spreading rapidly with the advance of Internet and networks, since it enables the creation of new services, and provides new features to both users and service providers. In such wired and wireless integrated services, network integration is very important, because such systems involve linking heterogeneous networks; and they involve integrating transmission technologies across networks. In this situation, existing security and communication technologies are unsuitable, since network integration involves heterogeneous networks. The network may have several security vulnerabilities. Also, the available services are for roaming users. In these services, we must provide fast authentication and security for roaming. Therefore, in this paper we proposed authentication and ID-based key management in pervasive environments. Our system provides efficient, secure communication.
In modern society, as the rapid development of IT technology combined with computer-based high-speed communication networks is enabling provision of a wide spectrum of services and devices, we have been confronted with a new era of cultural transformation, referred to as the information society. However, the security requirements that need to be considered have become more complicated and diversified, and the same security weaknesses exist as in the existing media or protocols. Particularly, an office network device with roaming is susceptible to different kinds of attacks such as terminal hacking, virus attacks, and information leakage, because the computing capacity is relatively low and the loading of already developed security functions is difficult. Although PKI security authentication technology was developed as one solution to this problem, it isn't suitable for multi-domain environments providing ubiquitous office network services, and so the development of a novel authentication system is needed. Therefore, this paper researched roaming and device authentication/authorization technology using an ID-based public key, authorization ticket, and sub-device ticket. The aim was to contribute to the development of secured and efficient technology.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
