The advancement of mobile technology and the internet network and their rapid adoption has enabled instant information access without relying on desktop or notebook computers. By using this technology, Learning Management System (LMS) can provide an unimpeded interaction for their users and promote awareness for any information updates. It is crucial to develop mobile application for each major mobile platform to reach most of the LMS user. In this paper, the mobile application development was done by combining native mobile technology and web technology using WebView API. This approach was taken to anticipate the need for creating and maintaining the application on multiple mobile platform and was expected to cut development time frame while retaining consistent interface and still enable platform specific's feature usage. The purpose of this study is to review the strengths and weaknesses of such combination in mobile application development specifically under android platform.
Mentoring supports the success of student’s study in almost all colleges. Mentoring activities include consulting, mentoring and enrichment materials, and monitoring the achievement of study for all students. Along with the growing number of students, encountered several obstacles in the process of mentoring such as the limitations of time and place to hold mentoring, the availability schedule given by the mentor, and the inadequate number of mentors. Research methods used include field studies, literary studies, problem identification, and problem analysis. To provide appropriate solutions in response to the existing problems, an information system of mentoring is designed.
Sorting is a basic algorithm studied by students of computer science major. Sorting algorithm is the basis of other algorithms such as searching algorithm, pattern matching algorithm. Bubble sort is a popular basic sorting algorithm due to its easiness to be implemented. Besides bubble sort, there is insertion sort. It is lesspopular than bubble sort because it has more difficult algorithm. This paper discusses about process time between insertion sort and bubble sort with two kinds of data. First is randomized data, and the second is data of descending list. Comparison of process time has been done in two kinds of programming language that is C programming language and FORTRAN programming language. The result shows that bubble sort needs more time than insertion sort does.
Queues can be found in all aspects of life, especially in the service industry, including at Binus University in the Student Service Center. Sizeable number of students at certain arrival time, has led to a long queue and this affects student discomfort in waiting. Queue information systems that exist today should bedeveloped further in order to improve the comfort of the user, such as information that is integrated with a student desk, both in seeing a queue number, and knowing the history queue. The research method used is thethree phases of the Software Development Life Cycle methods Problems and Opportunities, System Requirements and System Design. The result of this research is a framework that can be used for queuing system so as to provide the freedom of time and space for the user waiting queue.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
