The Sociedad Química de México organizes annually the Mexican Congress of Chemistry and the National Congress of Chemical Education, both congresses include activities of current interest for professionals and students of the chemical sciences. It grants annually the "Andrés Manuel del Río" National Award of Chemistry in the Academic area (field of research and field of education) and in the Technological area (field of technological development). It also grants each year the Rafael Illescas Frisbie Best Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Thesis in Chemical Sciences Awards and the biennial Award of the Sociedad Química de México in honor of the Doctor Mario J. Molina, directed to the professionals in Chemistry Sciences.
