Structure D 2000 SrSi 6 N 8 -A Reduced Nitridosilicate with a Si-Si Bond. -Single crystals of the title compound are obtained from the reaction of Sr with Si(NH)2 at 1650°C (N2 atmosphere, tungsten crucible, r.f. furnace, 6.5 h). SrSi6N8 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Imm2 with Z = 2. The structure contains SiN4 tetrahedra as well as N3Si-SiN3 units with Si-Si single bonds of 235.2 pm lengths. The compound represents the first ternary silicate with a partially reduced silicate substructure in which Si is present in the oxidation states +3 and +4. -(STADLER, F.; OECKLER, O.; SENKER, J.; HOEPPE, H. The molecular structures of three alkynylsilanes, tetrakis(ethynyl-p-tolyl)silane, 3,3,6,6,-tetramethyl- 3,6-disila-triyne, 3,3,6,6,9,9,-hexamethyl-3,6,9-trisila-tetrayne, and of bis(trimethylstannyl)- ethyne have been determined by X-ray diffraction. The same alkynylsilanes, and in addition 1,2- bis(trimethylsilylethynyl)-1,1,2,2-tetramethyldisliane, were studied by solid-state 13C and 29Si MAS NMR spectroscopy. The results of these measurements were compared with crystallographic evidence and also with relevant solution-state NMR data.
The polysulfides α‐ and β‐P2S7 are synthesized by heating stoichiometric mixtures of P4S3 and sulfur in the presence of catalytic amounts of anhydrous FeCl3 as mineralizer (evacuated silica tube, 250 °C, 10 d).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
