Hospital LOS is associated with rhinovirus etiology of bronchiolitis. Our data call attention to the importance of both RSV and rhinovirus testing in clinical research.
Acute paediatric poisonings represent a relatively frequent problem in Finland, and remain a life-threatening problem. The high proportion of alcohol poisonings highlights the necessity to develop more effective primary prevention programs.
The incidence of allergic reactions leading to hospitalizations between 1999 and 2011 increased in Finland and Sweden among children aged 0 to 19 years. In Finland, the incidence was lower throughout the study period compared to Sweden. Younger children constituted the majority of hospitalized children.
