Mangrove ecosystems host a great biodiversity of unique species contributing to overall coastal balance (Rivas & de Dios, 2018).Many edible mollusks species are increasingly being extracted from mangrove habitats without major control of fishing or resource management authorities. Along the Pacific Ocean, there are at least 15 species of the mollusk genus Anadara (Paredes et al., 2016). To our knowledge, the mangrove cockle Anadara tuberculosa is the most important species fished for human consumption (MacKenzie, 2001). Due to its high demand, natural populations have declined in these ecosystems (Pretel Monzón, 2016). The reduction in Anadara
