The Large Magellanic Cloud has been surveyed in the radio continuum at a wavelength of 6 cm with the 4' arc beam of the Parkes radio telescope. A catalogue of 95 sources and diagrams of their brightness contours are presented here.
A catalogue is given of radio sources observed in the Large Magellanic Cloud at 11 em wavelength. A map of the radio brightness in the 30Doradus region is included. The observations were made with a low-noise correlation radiometer and the Parkes 64 m radio telescope.
Recombination lines H 10901: have been detected in eight sources in the Large Cloud of Magellan. Low ratios of line temperature to continuum temperature, TdTc, were found in most of the sources and are attributed to the difficulty of obtaining a true continuum value when such a large area is encompassed by the telescope beam. In the 30Doradus nebula the ratio N(He+)jN(H+) was found to be no greater than O' 08, or less than half that previously recorded by radio observations.
The 31-31 A-branch transition of methanol has been observed in emission in Sgr B2. A laboratory determination of the rest frequency of 5005·32 MHz indicates that the radial velocity of the line in SgrB2 is 57 kms-1 •
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
