In recent y ears, several smart antenna systems have been proposed, and demonstrated at the base station of wireless communication systems, and these have shown that signi cant system performance improvement is possible. In this paper, we consider the use of adaptive a n tennas at the base and mobile stations in combination with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing in both the down and uplinks. This system allows multiple user access in frequency subcarriers as well as space. Thus, it is also known as spatialsubcarrier multiple access. The advantages of the proposed system includes reductions in average error probability and increases in capacity. To demonstrate the potential of our proposed system, analytical along with Monte Carlo simulation results are provided.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
