All around the world, Coffee place an important position in the beverages. It contains phenolic acid as well as polyphenols. It has the property of antioxidant; mood enhances mood, and also increases alertness, reduces weight, ef iciency against hypertension, and antitumor property because of its polyphenols and phenolic constituents. Chlorogenic acids (CGA) are the main components found in the fraction of phenols from green coffee beans. CGA has several therapeutic properties, which include antioxidant activities and also has hepatoprotective, hypoglycemic, and antiviral properties. Several essential compounds found in CGA in green coffee beans are caffeoylquinic acids, caffeoylquinic acids, feruloyl quinic acids, p-coumaroylquinic acids, and quinic acid. Therefore, this review highlighted the health bene its and anticancer activities of Green coffee bean.
Boerhavia diffusa, a well-known ethno-medicinal plant and were found in tropics and sub-tropics. Boerhavia diffusa is a traditional medicinal plant and they can cure many human ailments. It has most promising pharmacological activities include antifibrinolytic, immunosuppressive, diuretic, hepatoprotective, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, immunomodulatory, antilympho proliferative, analgesic properties and also for the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis. Due to their adverse side effects, the naturally occurring antioxidants has increased and replaced by the synthetic antioxidants. This study is focussed on the phytochemical evaluation and in vitro antioxidant activity of Hydroethanolic extract of Boerhavia diffusa. The qualitative chemical test exhibited the presence of phytocompounds like flavonoids, polyphenols, anthocyanins, coumarin, steroids, terpenoids, triterpenoids, glycosides, emodins and saponins. Quantitative analysis of total phenol, total flavonoid and total tannin was found to be 205.25mg/g, 121.65 mg/g and 61.41mg/g. DPPH, Total antioxidant activity, Superoxide anion radical, Nitric oxide and Hydroxy radical scavenging assay showed that B.diffusa was an excellent scavenger of these radicals. These results are an indication of the potent antioxidant property of the extract and may be responsible for some of the therapeutic uses of Boerhavia diffusa.
The green coffee bean is the most commonly used beverages in India and it is one of the most commercialised food products. They have a rich source of biologically active compounds that are important for human health. The coffee tree or a shrub belongs to the family Rubiaceae. Commercially available, two species of green coffee bean are Coffea Arabica and Coffea canephora. Cancer is the most important cause of death. Apart from cancer, quercetin can also prevent Osteoporosis. The phytochemicals present in the green coffee bean can be used as an alternate therapy for cancer due to its antimitotic activity and free radical scavenging activity. Total antioxidant shows IC50 value 45.81. Kaempferol is a potent antioxidant that can defence against free radicals and cure chronic diseases. Flavonoids are phenolic substances that act as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic, antiviral and also have vasodilating actions. Green coffee bean shows a high concentration of Flavonoids in hydroethanolic extraction. The aim of this study is used to analyse the presence of Flavonoids in green coffee bean by using High-performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Flavonoids are potent antioxidant that can bind to a protein. Flavonoids show a wide range of biological and pharmacological activities like anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer and anti-microbial activity.
Boerhavia diffusa is a medicinal plant used for various therapeutic benefits ant the plant can be found in tropics and subtropics regions. It has the pharmacological activities which include antifibrinolytic, immunosuppressive, diuretic, hepatoprotective, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, immunomodulatory, antilympho proliferative, analgesic properties and also for the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis. This study deals with the determination of possible phytocompounds present in the hydroethanolic extract of the plant Boerhavia diffusa using Gas chromatography- Mass Spectroscopy technique. Using GC-MS technique the phytocompounds present in the hydroethanolic extract of the plant Boerhavia diffusa was investigated and the mass spectra of the compounds found in the extract were matched with National Institute of Standards and Technology library. GC-MS Analysis of Boerhavia diffusa extract reveals that the existence of phytocompounds which includes 1, 2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, diethyl ester, Hexadecanoic Acid, 1,2- Benzenedicarboxylic acid, dibutyl ester and 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic Acid, Dioctyl Ester. This research paper helps to identify the phytocompounds which are present in the extract of Boerhavia diffusa and also prove the biological activities of the phytocompounds present. Furthermore, studies were made in-depth to find the mode of action of the phytocompounds.
