Studies on the reactions of superficial bladder tumors to temporary hyperthermia showed that hyperthermia (42–44°C over a period of 60 min) did not produce regressive changes in the tumor tissue. The effectiveness of Thio-Tepa on tumor tissue, however, was increased by raising tumor temperature. Application of this effect to increase the selectivity of regional chemotherapyof disseminated superficial tumors is discussed.
