This paper deals with the closed loop operation of semi-dual active bridge(S-DAB) converter for battery charger applications. The semi-dual active bridge (S-DAB) converter is obtained from Dual Active Bridge converter (DAB) by replacing the active (four switches) to semi-active (two switches) on the load side. As the no of switches are less when compared to Dual Active Bridge converter (DAB), it has high efficiency, unidirectional power flow and less stress on switches. Along with the above advantages it undergoes zero voltage switching (ZVS) without the requirements of any active or passive components. A controller is also designed for the enhancement of the closed loop operation of the semi-dual active bridge (S-DAB) converter. Hence it can be used for high/low voltage applications. The complete design and simulation of the semi-dual active bridge (S-DAB) converter with the controller is carried out in MATLAB/ Simulink Keywords-Dual Active Bridge (DAB) Converter; Semi-Dual Active Bridge (S-DAB) Converter; Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
