For the first time, the effects of iron-subgroup metal chlorides on polymer cord conversion to liquid and gaseous pyrolysis products have been studied. The optimum parameters for pyrolysis were identified (T ¼ 450 C, CoCl 2 2 wt%). The presence of aprotic acidic centers of the iron-subgroup metal chlorides on the polymer cord was confirmed by FTIR. The catalytic effect of iron-subgroup metal chlorides is predominantly attributed to the acidic properties of the catalysts used.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
