A large percentage of students in Bachelor's level study face adjustment problem and fail to achieve academic excellence worldwide. In the related context, this paper explores the adjustment process of Bachelor's level students in Kathmandu valley in relation to gender and communication. The study exploits Adjustment Inventory for College Students (AICS) to explore the adjustment process of the students. The research is based on survey for obtaining data by using self-administered questionnaire from 120 students as respondents studying Bachelor's level in the four different colleges -two public and two private organisations. The descriptive analysis was conducted based on a self-structured questionnaire which has basically covered five scales Likert in the five different areas like home, health, education, social and emotional aspects. With the rapid technological advancement throughout business sector, education sector has not been untouched by it. Education institutions are in the phase of being digitalized which more have been encouraged post COVID-19 in Nepal as well. This study thus aims to explore readiness of Nepalese education institution on technical adaption. Descriptive study has been conducted where 300 school teachers have been surveyed for this study. The results revealed that almost all the school teachers are ready to adapt digitalized education system given different dimension. It was also found that teachers are highly aware regarding the adoption of technology in schools. Likewise, 49.9% teacher's willingness to adopt digital teaching learning practice has increased after COVID-19. Thus, this study concludes that 90% of teachers are willing to adapt digital technology in educational system of Nepal. Therefore, feasible environment, infrastructure that fits digital teaching pedagogy, digital friendly curriculum are recommended to be set for increasing the effectiveness of teaching practice with digital technologies.
Background: Existing literature on QWL and CG supports that effective compliance of CG is dependent on how the institution is nourished with the spirit of QWL and CG maintains relationship between the company’s management, board of directors, shareholders, employees, and auditors and stakeholders. Moreover, QWL consider different components like autonomy of work, compensation and rewards, job satisfaction and job security, quality of work life, relation and co-operation, training and development, work environment. Objectives: The main purpose of this paper was to investigate the factors, dimensions and policy implications to foster quality of work life (QWL) situation in organizations, especially in the Nepalese corporate sector. Methods: Fully based on qualitative desk review and analyses. Results: This paper has attempted to establish relationship between the determinants of QWL situation and corporate governance (CG) from a positivists’ perspective. In the present Nepalese context, several challenging factors, such as, employee attitude, working environment, opportunities, nature of work, stress, job challenges, development and career potential are affecting QWL attainment. Conclusions: QWL promotes adequate and fair compensation, safe and healthy working condition, opportunity to use and develop human capabilities, opportunity to growth and security, social integration, constitutionalism, social relevance of work life; work and total life span of the people. Implications: Robust QWL standardization, monitoring and evaluation be in place to govern all corporate entities in a meaningful manner.
Background: Although consumers are increasingly concerned with ethical factors when forming product opinions and making purchase decisions, recent studies have highlighted significant differences between consumers’ ethical consumption intentions and their actual buying behavior.Various dimensions concerning how consumers make purchase and consumption decisions and the driving forces behind them have been identified through this study. Objectives: This paper aims to explore the factors leading the gap between attitudes and behavior of consumers in relation to ethical consumption. Methods: The desk review carried out on various related studies reflects that the factors that obstruct the process of ethical consumption and thereby being responsible in forming attitude-behavior gap, which can be helpful in the course of management decision implications worth encouragement of ethical consumption behavior. Moreover, conceptual framework that has been developed for ethical consumption also indicates the factors responsible for creating ethical intention-behavior gap. Findings: This study derives concepts on ethical consumption from literature survey and identifies consumers’ understanding level on ethical consumption. Likewise, the study also provides a comprehensive picture of factors impeding ethical consumption among consumers while providing some theoretical and analytical applications. Conclusions: Price, quality, taste, brand image of products and convenience are some of the considerable issues while buying, due to which consumers’ ethical concerns towards society and environment are not transformed into their consumption behavior.
This paper explores the graduates’ perception on job search from relevant sources. The study adopts descriptive analysis and has applied purposive sampling technique to collect data from 350 students of different MBA colleges inside the Kathmandu valley. Logit model is used for the inferential analysis of the data. The results show that the most popular recruitment sources used by employers are web sites and the internet job site. Among the respondents, 82% have applied jobs at least one time and about 55% of them use online job portal to apply job. 62% of the respondents are satisfied from the modern method due to the time saving and cost saving but same number (63%) are not satisfied by the services that provide by the job portal. The Binary Logistic regression results indicate that applying job is statistically significant with the sex, training, marital status, faced interview, interview method and company response whereas search job is significantly affected by the sex, interview method, faced interview, company response and job searching. Similarly, marital status, interview method, job categories qualification and job searching have significantly affected the saving time of graduates. The study concludes that due to the improper management of job portal and Recruitment Companies many students are facing problems in job searching process. Hence, academia should focus in soft skills required for the employment market along with their academic excellence whereas adoption of new technology by reducing the traditional technology can improve the recruitment process.
