Introduction: Assessing the quality of nursing care has become a global health issue. especially for caregivers and recipients of care in the inpatient department. Patient satisfaction is one of the indicators to measure quality of nursing care. This study aimed to identify the differences of patient satisfaction level in inpatient ward based on socio-demographic characteristics at Siloam Hospitals Bali. Methods: This study was cross-sectional design with descriptive comparative and correlation methods. Patient satisfaction data were collected using the Patient Satisfaction with Nursing Care Quality Questionnaire (PSNCQQ) that was provided after the patient was discharged. Purposive sampling technique was used to determine 107 samples. The analytical tests used in this study were the Spearman correlation test, Mann-Whitney test and Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: The results of this study showed that there was a significant weak and negative correlation between the level of satisfaction and age of the patient (p = 0.017; r = -0.231; α <0.05). There were significant differences of patient satisfaction based on marital status (p = 0.036; α <0.05) and nationality status (p = 0.001; α <0.05), but there were no differences in patient satisfaction based on sex (p = 0.276; α <0.05) and education level (p = 0.434; α <0.05).Conclusion: This study concluded that social demographic characteristics of patients can influence the satisfaction, but only on age, marital and nationality status. This showed that inpatients provide good satisfaction evaluations of nursing care. The optimal nursing care needs to be maintained and improved, either routine evaluation or sustainable program development.
Community groups who live in traditional settlements mostly have a wealth called genius loci, which actually has very insight into the preservation of the natural and cultural environment. Bali also has several unique traditions that are not only in terms of settlement layouts, but are unique in terms of preserving the natural landscape. Meanwhile, there are some areas in Indonesia that are not able to maintain environmental sustainability, which is indicated by the continued increase in deforestation rates which are a sign of the deteriorating quality of the surrounding environment. Based on this, this article discusses the traditions applied in landscape conservation in Penglipuran Bangli village. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. To preserve the natural environment, there are several traditions that are still maintained and implemented consistently, including traditions: Preserving village forests, keeping the environment clean, telajakan karang kerti, may not use vehicles on the main village corridor. The application of local traditions related to environmental preservation is carried out consistently and with full awareness by both the community and the prajuru as leaders in the Penglipuran Traditional Village. The success of nature conservation cannot be separated from the clear, firm, consistent application of awig-awig accompanied by sanctions, as well as public awareness of the importance of landscape conservation.
This paper departs from the view that reorienting higher education in the built environment field towards implementing “act-design-plan-locally” principles is a step closer to an awareness of Sustainable Development Goals. It embraces the concept of ‘vernacularity’ that promotes strategies in partnering with nature, valuing simplicity and humility as an approach to learning resources. The idea has been introduced as part of various subjects offered in academic curricula, particularly those practised in many architecture programs. On the other hand, taking it as a learning approach has not been considered. Two principles are significant. Firstly, this paper takes the concept further and offers a theoretical insight into how the ‘act-design-plan-locally’ principle inspired by vernacularly can be embedded in the learning process of built environment studies. In so doing, it first provides an understanding of the principle itself, especially its potential position to support efforts in achieving sustainable development goals. Second, it explores prospects that enable the inclusion of this principle into the higher education teaching and learning process, as well as challenging circumstances that dissuade the achievement of this objective. Here, we categorize discussion regarding academic environmental systems, teaching environments, available resources and behavioural mandates. The whole discussion will be concluded in the third part of this paper.
The coastal area is a physically productive area, but is easily degraded which may be due to the lack of planning or even natural factors. The coastal area in Gianyar has experienced a drastic physical development, especially after it is declared as Lebih Tourist Zone or Lebih Tourist Zone (LTZ) and the construction of the arterial road between Tohpati and Kusamba. The study documented in this paper discusses: (i) the form in which the coastal area in Gianyar are utilized post the recognition as the LTZ; (ii) the factors that influence the changes in land utilization in this region; and (iii) how does this condition affect the sustainability of the LTZ. Fundamentally, this study applies the conception of sustainable development and the descriptive qualitative research method. The data were collected through field surveys and in-depth interviews with the land owners, land users, and the authority. The research results showed that the LTZ has experienced a significant change, both physically and non-physically. The factors that influence this change in function is the physical condition of the land, economy, institutional factors, and accessibility. This change has implications for the environment, economy and social culture. This study concludes to develop the sustainability of the LTZ some fundamental actions must be made, namely: evaluate the usage of land, establish clear and restricting zoning law to anticipate any land use violation; consistency in the layout plan; the active participation in the control of land use by the government, the people and private sectors; providing incentives and disincentives in utilizing the space.
