Homoeopathy is among the commonly used alternative approaches in Cancer. It is being widely used as palliative and curative in patients suffering from cancer. Though studies on the use of Homoeopathy in cancer after surgery, radio therapy and chemotherapy have been reported, clinical trials on effects of Homoeopathy in cancer are rare. Some studies on the effect of dosage of Homoeopathic medicines and their mechanism of action in cancer have also been published. A few case reports published here and there also find a mention in different databases. This review aims to describe literature available on the approach of Homoeopathy in Cancer by searching various databases from online library. It was found that beneficial effects of Homoeopathic medicine are reported on some cancer cell lines via apoptosis and immune modulation. Homoeopathic treatment given as add on also improves the quality of life, survival time and presenting complaints. However, more evidence needs to be generated to demonstrate anti tumor or antimetastatic potential in controlled clinical trials.
Background. Wheezing in children is one of the common problems in pediatrics. Recent research has shown that hypertonic saline has shown potential benefit in children with bronchiolitis. Methods. In this randomised, double-blind controlled trial (n=72), children aged two months to eight years, presenting with wheeze were block randomised to receive salbutamol with 3% hypertonic saline (3%) (Group A) or salbutamol with normal saline (0.9%) (Group B). Wang et al 1 clinical severity score was used to assess severity. The primary outcome was length of stay in the hospital. Secondary outcomes were to know the adverse effects in both the groups, to assess the rate of re-admission within seven days.Results. Between the two groups there was no statistically significant difference with respect to demographic data, risk factors studied and the underlying pathology. Salbutamol with hypertonic saline nebulisation reduces the length of stay. There was statistically significant difference in the mean number of doses of salbutamol required in both the groups (p=0.03).Conclusions. We recommend that nebulised hypertonic saline (3%) with salbutamol to be considered more effective and safe alternative to nebulisation with normal (0.9%) saline and salbutamol. Trial registration. Morgellons Disease is a dermopathy described by colorful fibers that lie under, are implanted in, or venture from skin. It is logically unverified skin condition in which people have wounds that they accept contains of stringy material. Morgellons disease isn't well understood, however it is the type of Delusional parasitosis. This article presents a concise review of the history of the mysterious disease, histopathology, symptomatology, prevalence, diagnostic approach and what Homoeopathy done for this controversial disease. Homoeopathy interconnect both mental and physical sphere, which helps the patient to recover soon. Morgellons disease treatment in modern medicine are antipsychotic medication, antidepressants and cognitive behavioural therapy. Morgellons disease is classified as a Delusion disorder in the Diagnostic and statistical Manuel of Mental disorders (DSM5). So, these article stress on the different point in concise manner and how Morgellons disease is managed by Homoeopathy, special stress on Sensation of the patient which is more important symptoms of this disease.
Objectives The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of homoeopathic mother tincture Sarothamnus scoparius in the management of essential hypertension. Materials and Methods An open label, prospective, single arm, clinical trial was conducted on 35 participants recruited from outpatient department/inpatient department of a Govt. Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital. All participants received Sarothamnus scoparius mother tincture, suffering from essential hypertension. The primary outcome was to evaluate the change in systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) every month for 3 months and the secondary outcome was to assess the QOL of the patient by using WHOQOL-BREF at baseline and after 3 months. The primary outcome and secondary outcome measures were analysed by repeated measure analysis of variance (ANOVA) and ‘Paired t-test’ respectively. Result Twenty-nine participants completed the study and six participants dropped out. Intention-to-treat sample (n = 35) was analysed. There was statistically significant reduction in SBP (146.40 ± 7.65 to 128.00 ± 12.34) as well as DBP (88.80 ± 3.26 to 86.07 ± 3.307). Repeated measure ANOVA was performed to compare the changes in SBP as well as DBP at different time interval. In SBP, the result was statistically significant on all occasions (p = 0.000, at 95% confidence interval [CI]). In DBP, the result was also found statistically significant (p = 0.000, at 95% CI). However, the result was not statistically significant when DBP was compared at 1 month with 2nd and 3rd months (p = 1.000, at 95% CI); 2 months with 1 and 3 months (p = 1.000, 0.863 at 95% CI respectively); 2 months with 3 months (p = 0.518, at 95% CI); and 3 months with 1 and 2 months (p = 1.000, 0.863 at 95% CI respectively).Paired t-test performed to measure the changes in WHOQOL-BREF score showed statistically significant (62.57 ± 10.81 to 96.07 ± 17.47; p = 0.000, at 95% CI). Conclusion The study findings suggest that Sarothamnus scoparius mother tincture is beneficial in the management of essential hypertension as well as improving QOL. Randomised controlled trials are further warranted. Trial Registration CTRI/2021/09/036584.
