Uma das razões para obter sucesso na horticultura é a produção de mudas de qualidade, utilizando substratos em substituição do solo na formação de mudas. Desse modo, objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar o desempenho de mudas de alface e rúcula utilizando substratos produzidos com vermicompostos juntamente com a serragem e casca de arroz como agentes condicionantes. Foram realizados dois experimentos em Vilhena, Rondônia, utilizando o delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 3x2 com sete repetições, correspondendo a três substratos e duas cultivares, tanto para alface quanto para rúcula. A proporção dos materiais foi de 1:3 do volume total de solo, de esterco de aves e agente condicionante, sendo utilizada a minhoca Vermelha Californiana (Eisenia foetida). Para as cultivares, tanto de alface quanto de rúcula, foram avaliadas a altura de plântulas, diâmetro do colo, massa seca da parte aérea, das raízes e total. Não foi observada diferença significativa entre os tratamentos avaliados em relação a massa seca das raízes de alface da cultivar Crespa, porém para a cultivar Americana, os tratamentos utilizando vermicomposto com agente condicionante a serragem ou casca de arroz, foram superiores ao substrato comercial em relação a massa seca das raízes. Entre as cultivares de rúcula, não foi observado diferença significativa entre os tratamentos sobre as variáveis avaliadas. Portanto, é possível concluir que os substratos produzidos a partir de vermicompostos com serragem e casca de arroz como agentes condicionantes, podem substituir o substrato comercial durante a produção de mudas de alface e rúcula.
A major problem is tropical pasture conditions in acid soils of low fertility. In this context the condition of nutrition of forage plants has low availability of phosphorus (P). The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of two phosphate sources (meat and bone meals and superphosphate) in dry matter production of Tifton (Cynodon dactylon L.). The experiment was conducted from March to July 2011, in the experimental farm of UNIR, Rolim de Moura, RO. The experiment was carried out in buckets of 10 kg of soil. Treatments were the addition of increasing doses of P 2 O 5 (0, 100, 200 and 300 kg ha-1) plots with nitrogen fertilization (20 kg ha-1) in each section (30 days), there is still a witness (only N) and absolute control (no N and no P). The randomized blocks design was used with five replicates (3x2+2). Variable analysis, had different levels of production in relation to the cutting times can be attributed to the difference in solubility between the sources of P 2 O 5 studied. In terms of response in four sections, the production levels of dry matter generated by the meat and bones proved effective in relation to single super phosphate, ranging from 94%, 66% and 78% compared with the doses 100, 200 and 300 kg ha-1 , respectively. The meat and bone meal produced satisfactory answers in relation to dry matter production of Tifton, compared to conventional fertilization.
The response of second crop corn to nitrogen application was evaluated at different stages of development. The experiment was conducted on the São Carlos farm in Vilhena – Rondônia/Brazil. The factors under study included the splitting of N associated with the application of coated urea with NBPT (45-00-00) in top dressing. The control group (witness) showed the highest productivity among all treatments, with 7962 kg ha-1, followed by V3+V7 (7895 kg ha-1) and V4+V8 (7821 kg ha-1). The lowest productivity was 6630 kg ha-1 in V5+V9, indicating that the later the urea application in defining the productive potential of the crop (V4), the lower the yields achieved.
