Introduction: During the COVID-19 pandemic, teaching in higher education institutions took place online, or combined. This way of teaching was a challenge for both teachers and students. Aim: The aim of the research is to examine the attitudes and experiences of medical students about online teaching. Methods: The research was conducted as a descriptive study. The research instrument is a specially designed questionnaire that assesses student attitudes and experiences with online teaching. The study included 103 students of medical courses, Healthcare and Pharmacy, at the Academy of Vocational Studies Šabac, Department of Medical and Business-Technological Studies in June 2022. Results: The majority of students were in the age category of 19-30 years, female, from the Health Care study program. The students expressed their agreement with the statements about the regularity of online classes at the Department, as well as the way of informing about obligations during online classes. The negative attitude of the students was that online teaching is not a better form of teaching than traditional teaching, as well as that online teaching is suitable for practical exercises. The overall quality of organizing online classes at the Department of Medical and Business-Technological Studies was rated four by most students. Conclusion: In the conditions of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, classes are organized well, but in the future, if necessary, classes should be combined. The obtained results will serve to improve the teaching process at the Department.
Introduction: Burnout syndrome is a condition caused by chronic stress at the workplace. Resilience is the ability to cope with the negative situations in life. Purpose: To evaluate the extent of burnout syndrome in nursing teachers at medical high schools and the effect of the level of resilience on burnout syndrome. Material and methods: This cross-sectional study interviewed 101 nursing teachers at four medical schools. Teacher Burnout Scale, The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and socio-demographic questionnaire have been used as instruments of the study. Results: The majority of nursing teachers had moderate symptom of burnout syndrome. The average result on the burnout scale was 56.1. Statistical analyzes showed that there is no statistically significant difference in the manifestation of burnout syndrome in teachers in relation to demographic characteristics (sex, marital status, years of work experience and subjects at medical school). By analysing the results of the two scales, it has been established that there is no statistically significant association between the burnout intensity and the degree of resilience in nursing teachers. Conclusion: The results of the study showed moderate level of burnout in nursing teachers. This may help as an encouragement to develop a strategy for preventing emergence of the burnout syndrome. The results will be useful for further research of burnout syndrome in nursing teachers.
Emergencies in oncology are acute exacerbations of the patient's condition that can be fatal and are caused by a tumor process or antitumor treatment. Can affect different organs or organ systems, generally are classified as: obstructive syndromes, metabolic disorders, and hematological or immunological disorders. The nurse is an important member of the team involved in the treatment of cancer patients and their interventions can contribute to reducing the rate of mortality and successful treatment of emergencies. As she spends most of her time with the patient, the nurse must be educated to recognize the symptoms and signs of emergencies, in order to provide first aid in time and inform the doctor. Nurse interventions are aimed at performing diagnostic procedures in patients, applying appropriate therapeutic measures, monitoring patients and providing health care.
