The proton spin-lattice relaxation time and self-diffusion Coefficient of water in concentrated aqueous ZnCl, solutions have been measured as a function of salt concentration and temperatures. The intermolecular and intramolecular contributions of the dipolar interactions to the relaxation rate were determined separately with the aid of the self-diffusion data. The present data indicate that the translational motion of water molecules in ZnCl, solutions is retarded more significantly than their rotational motion with decreasing water content.3258
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
