We provide the first Australian data on the use of Mohs micrographic surgery for melanoma.

An Australian Mohs surgeon is capable of correctly identifying and interpreting histopathology in non-melanoma skin cancers, and this compares favourably to an overseas study.

This study supports the view that dermatological surgery, including significant procedures such as Mohs micrographic surgery, flaps and grafts, can be performed on an ambulatory basis in an office-based procedure room setting, with low complication rates.
