The catalytic asymmetrict otal synthesis of (À)-exiguolide, ac omplex 20-memberedm acrolide embeddedw ith ab is(tetrahydropyran)m otif, is reported. The convergent synthesis involves the construction of the C1-C11t etrahydropyran segment via catalytic asymmetric allylationa nd Prins cyclization, and the formation of the C12-C21p hosphonates egment via catalytica symmetricc yclocondensation reaction and Johnson-Claisen rearrangement. The synthesiso f15-epi-exiguolide is also described.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
