Trisubstituted imidazoles are synthesized efficiently from the readily available 1,2-diketones and aldehydes using hexamethyldisilazane as a new and stable nitrogen source under TMSOTf-catalysis system, microwave heating and solvent-free conditions.
Lawsonia inermis Linn (Henna) belongs to the family Lythreaceae and the sole member of its genus Lawsonia. It is glabrous branched shrub or small tree (2 to 6 m in height). The leaves are small, sub-sessile and greenish brown to dull green in color, and have either a glabrous, obtuse or acute apex with a tapering base. Flowers are small of redor rose color 1. Henna can only grow where minimum temperatures stay above 11 o C. It tolerates extreme heat and long droughts.
