Sporting performance is dependent upon the athlete’s readiness to act, which facilitates the strengthening of the bond between stimulus and response. Thus, an athlete is highly motivated and eager to exhibit the best performance in the modern sporting world under tremendous load. For elevating the performance in the main competition it is extremely necessary to prepare the physical, physiological, and psychological condition of an athlete before the mega- events. That is the core concept of warming up. At the end of any sporting event, it is highly recommended to maintain homeostasis by lowering the intensity and volume of the work stimulus. This is termed as cool-down in sports training. The present research article discussed various research-based scientific innovations for promoting better warming up and cool-down protocols of sports training. The means and methods of warming up and cool-down are critically discussed for the promotion of modern sports training.
Self hypnosis and mental imagery are two sides of a coin, specially in case of modern sports. Hypnosis of oneself and mental imagery are totally immersive multi-sensory procedure that associates with numerous senses to create as a mental image and process it in absent of external stimuli. In the sport situation, imagery has been with a state in which person imagine while effecting abilities to deal with the future duty or improve performance capacity. Scientific analyses have stated that imagery increases performance in motor stimuli. Routines mental practice play an important role in sports and games, not only for the acquisition of motor skills, but also for preparation and sport injuries rehabilitation. Imagery techniques in sport are used for different purposes, as outlined by the process of self hypnosis and Model of Imagery Use in Sports, to improve skill acquisition, motivation, and sport confidence and to reduce anxiety.. Clinical sport hypnosis can help athletes acquire certain cognitive, psychological, behavioral and affective qualities so that their physical and mental capabilities are improved. According Wikipedia, sports hypnosis is defined as the use of hypnotherapy with athletes in order to improve sporting performance. Others define sport hypnosis as a form of mental training which can contribute to enhancing athletic performance. . It has been shown that different forms and functions of imagery prove to be effective for the above-mentioned functions depending on the characteristics of different sports and the expertise level of athletes. The present study reviews systematically the findings of other reports on various aspects of mental imagery and self hypnosis in the field of sports.
International result-oriented performance in sports requires systematic scientific training. A proper pedagogical approach is required for systematic loading of the athletes in order to record-breaking performance. The performance of an athlete largely depends upon a progressive training load for a relatively long period of time. The degree of mechanical tension, subcellular damage, and metabolic stress can all play a role in exercise-induced muscle adaptations. The process of adaptation largely depended upon the ratio of load and recovery stimulus. Thus the load dynamics and proper adaptation is reflected in the achievement of an athlete. The present research review-based article discussed systematically the procedure of training load, importance of recovery, and adaptation of load.
Background In the yogic tradition, this cleansing is known as shatkarma or shatkriyas. Kriyas or yogic cleansing procedures are an important part of yoga as they help eliminate toxins accumulated in the system. Kriyas also help to rejuvenate the body and put it in the proper condition for the proper functioning of yogasana and pranayama. Purpose The purpose of the present qualitative study was to discuss in detail the various aspects of cleaning techniques (shatkarma) and their implication of disease-free life. Findings The present article has discussed scientifically the various aspects of shatkarma or six cleansing techniques and their importance in human health. The purification of inner bodily chambers is very important to detoxify our body and remove waste materials. In order to bring balance to tri-dosh vata, pitta, and kapha and empower our internal systems such as blood circulation, digestion, respiratory system, and defense the role of shatkarma, one cannot be ignored. Conclusion Yoga is believed to increase the neurotransmitter dopamine (natural anti-depressant) and strengthen your nervous system. A strong mind–body connection, a healthy body, and focusing inward can help towards greater happiness. Most yoga practitioners report a huge reduction in the amount of hostility they feel as well as a sense of control when anger and stress reduction. Moving tension out of the body, de-stressing, meditating, and breath control reduce stress considerably. Shatkarma removes impurities of the internal body, organs which got accumulated by regular intake of external matter through different sensory organs. To make sure of the proper flow of prana (life force), shatkarma ensures there is not any physical/mental knot present in nadis.
