In the present study authors had separated testis, epididymis-caput, corpus, cauda, vas deferens, seminal vesicle, prostate gland and bulbourethral gland from human male reproductive tract, made it to ash form. Semen also underwent same procedure. All samples had undergone X-ray diffraction analysis. Results Results showed there where two distinct rings for each sample. We named it is “A” &” B”. Under “A” Barium silicate, Barium silicate hydrate and three metal complexes of copper, gold and zinc were seen. Under “B” Calcium silicate and calcium silicate hydrate were observed. Both “A” and “B” were seen throughout the length (expect for “A” is seminal vesicle) and in semen. Conclusions A tri metal complex of copper, gold and zinc is reported in this study, is first of its kind in Biology.
Hyperreactio luteinalis is a rare entity in which there is bilateral, benign, functional multicystic ovarian enlargement during pregnancy, which is most commonly seen in third trimester. This condition is usually innocuous and does not need any specific treatment. However, many a times, it is mistaken for ovarian malignancy and inadvertently operated upon. This is a case report of a 24-year-old female with a partial molar pregnancy associated with hyperreactio luteinalis who was followed up for regression of the same and normalization of beta human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) levels.
Recently, technological advancement helped to improve our knowledge on trace elements in human male reproductive organs and its secretion, semen. In this study, employing energy dispersive x-ray analysis facilities on electron microscope, presence of different elements in human male reproductive organs--testis, epididymis, caput, corpus and cauda, prostate gland, seminal vesicle, Cowper's gland and vas deferens-seminal plasma and spermatozoa pellet was studied. Several elements were observed. Gold was one among them that was present in seminal plasma and spermatozoa. It was also present in epididymis caput. Authors consider epididymis caput as the source of gold in semen.
