The relevance of the research is that university and business collaboration is the main implementation tool of the third university mission. University-business collaboration (UBC) has risen to one of the top priorities for many higher education institutions, with its importance mirroring attention from scholars and policy makers worldwide. In the face of increasing global competition, business was challenged to seek new methods for creating their competitive advantage and at the same time, the decreasing budgets of higher education institutions were pressured to find new streams of financing. In both cases, collaboration in different forms is an important method for achieving their objectives. Ten types of UBC are related quite directly to the missions of the university and the needs of business but one of them curriculum development and delivery is very important. Using this form for UBC, could help to develop human resources relevant to modern society. The main instruments and activities in this form of collaboration as identified by business is too little used. The research aim was to identify the activities of university and leisure organizations used for collaboration in curriculum development. The objectives of the research: to determine the forms of UBC, to identify the activities used for universities and leisure organizations collaboration in curriculum development. Analysis of recent research and publications. UBC became the subject of education and management sciences. Recently, much attention has been paid to UBC collaboration practices (M. Ilyas, G. Dutrenit, D. Golder-Buckley, V. Garousi, K. Petersen) especially a lot of research on practices was done about universities collaboration in R&D and commercialisation of R&D. P. D'Este and M. Perkmann explored the factors of UBC, the types were identified by T. Davey, T. Baaken, V. Galan Muros, A. Meerman, T. Barnes, A. Gibbons and the levels of UBC were represented by B.N. Ponomariov, P.C. Boardman, T. Davey. The benefits of UBC to research quality have been studied by researchers M. Crespo and H. Dridi, as a collaborative factor for learning improvement by researchers K. Ramakrishnan, N.M. Yasin, A. Draghici, as a quality factor UBC was analysed by M. Perkmann, Z. King, S. Pavelin. The main researchers who analysed the UBC in curriculum development was the T. Davey, A. Healy, C. Plewa, T. Baaken. An overview of the study of this object shows that it was mostly analysed in vocational training and in last ten years' period the publications is growing in UBC. Research methodology. With such heightened awareness of innovation within a tourism industry, the factors to improve economic growth and trajectory of an organization is said to be critically dependent upon whether an organization chooses to implement innovation into their business strategy. Innovation is recognized as one of the most determining factors in the improvement of competitiveness, becoming a powerful explanatory factor of the differences between countries, regions and companies in terms of their economic growth. Thus, implying that in order to be competitive amongst competitors across nations, regions and towns, innovation is key. It also instinctively raises the question of if innovation is the key then what does it unlock? For example, if innovation is important, does it unlock the knowledge to understand challenges faced by rural organizations when integrating innovation and how to solve them? Or does it provide an organization with a specific way to measure its ability to integrate innovation into its business structure? In order to assess these questions, the purpose of the research is to evaluate integrated innovations within rural tourism organizations. The research object is the integrated innovation. The objectives of the work are to define the types, classifications and determinants of innovation; analyze rural tourism organizations' in Lithuania and their ability to implement innovation by examining its readiness and challenges; determine integrated innovations in rural tourism organizations through methods of measuring innovation. The research is based on the analysis on the types of innovation -product innovation, organizational innovation and service innovation -on the works
Recently, academic integrity literacy and anti-corruption issues have become very topical in education system. Lithuanian domestic and foreign policy is interested in reducing corruption in order to improve Lithuania's international image in all sectors. Research conducted in recent years lacks the anti-corruption theme of public education and the image of impunity is relevant. In the education system, corruption takes many forms and dimensions [37]. In all cases, corruption challenges the quality of education and thus the socio-economic development of the society. The research aim was to analyse documents available to higher education communities aimed at enhancing academic integrity literacy and prevent possible manifestations of corruption in higher education systems. The objectives of the research: to analyse documents which are available to higher education communities and related to academic integrity literacy, to assess the documents visibility and accessibility to the academic community and the public, to establish if the available documents were analysed and examined by the academic community members.Analysis of recent research and publications. Academic integrity literacy and preventing corruption in higher education is a growing topic in educational research. I. Silova, M. Johnson, S. Heyneman (2007), E. Denisova-Schmidt (2016), highlights more how corruption affects the efficiency of the economy. R. Bikulciute and R. Mrazauskaitethe (2013) excluded the problems of academic integrity literacy. N.L. Rumyantseva (2005) represented the taxonomy of corruption in the higher education system. A.L. Osipian (2008), S. Tanaka(2001) G. Mohamedbhai (2015) and others, wrote the manifestations of hidden and open corruption or corruption forms.Research methodology. Aiming at analysing the documents available to higher education communities to enhance academic integrity literacy and prevent possible corruption in the higher education system, analysis of these documents was carried out. Also, their visibility and accessibility to the academic community and the public was assessed. Quantitative research with students and teachers was used to establish how well the academic community members knew the aforementioned available documents.Humanities Studies. 2019. Випуск 1 (78) Higher education community documents available to academic community aiming at increasing academic integrity literacy and preventing corruption of Lithuania 51Conclusion. On their websites, higher education institutions publish all documents that regulate their activities including studies, which allows to prevent or partially reduce the existence of not only visible corruption but also hidden forms of corruption. As a preventive measure in higher education, members should be made more aware of the code of ethics and internal rules of work. However, various forms, such as thematic training, seminars or surveys, should be used systematically to fight corruption.
Research background. Reality of everyday life requires from a young person continual improvement, competitiveness and efficiency in striving for goals needed at work. Employers are increasingly demanding results “faster, better, cheaper”. The main goal of higher education institutions is to prepare good and motivated specialists. Increasing migration of youth, among them the most qualified professionals, to foreign countries has shown that a large part of the workers are not prepared for employment and work in Lithuania (Čepas, 2008a). Thus, employability competence is becoming a more important issue. Previous research results showed that there was no clear opinion about the concept of employability competence, which skills, abilities, personal qualities and knowledge are needed that young people could realize themselves in the world of labour. The first part of article discussed the concept of employability competence, employability competence structure / content, typology and the most important factors conditioning the graduates’ employability competence. Employability competence is defined as “skills, personal qualities and values that must be acquired by all graduates regardless of their direction of study subjects (HEC, 1992). According to the author (Čepas, 2008) employability competence is explained as ability to chose a workplace, ability of preparing for work activities, employment and ability to save this job based on the knowledge, skills, abilities and values as a whole. Generalization structure of employability competence needs to emphasize the choice of workplace, to acquire and have special abilities to adapt in the workplace. Graduates’ employability competence is largely determined by students, employers and higher education institutions’ interaction and collaboration. Therefore, in the scientific literature we can find a lot of discussion about the graduates’ employability competence. The object of the survey was the importance of employability competencies for employment. The aim of the survey was to analyse the importance of employability competencies for graduates’ employment in tourism sector. Research methods. In order to be more aware of the importance of graduates’ employability competence in the tourism sector, two quantitative studies were carried out. The first study was done with students in tourism studies and the second one – with the employers of tourism organizations. The study data were processed using the methods of mathematical statistics. Research results. Rresearch results showed that the employability competence of graduates in accordance with their gained specialization in the tourism sector is a most important skill among personal abilities and personal characteristics.
