Background: Phytochemicals are pure chemical compounds found to be present in different plants part such as leaves, fruit, flower, seeds and the whole plant. These pure plant-based chemicals are having power to treat all disorders of the human beings and other higher animal species on earth. Flavonoidal compounds are responsible for the attractive color and important biological properties of plant material. Flavonoids are having a potential role in the treatment of numerous health complications of human beings. Antioxidant properties are one of the best pharmacological properties of all classes of flavonoidal compounds. A significant amount of these flavonoidal compounds are needed in our daily routine diet. Methods: Cirsiliol also called 5,3′,4′-trihydroxy-6,7-dimethoxyflavone is a flavonoidal class chemical found to be present in different plants including Salvia guaranitica. Various literature databases have been searched to know the biological potential of the cirsiliol in medicine. Different scientific research data of cirsiliol have been collected from various literature sources and analyzed in the present work. Detail pharmacological activities of cirsiliol in medicine have been evaluated in the present work through literature data analysis of various scientific research works. However analytical data has also been collected and analyzed in the present work through different literature sources. Results: From the collected data, it was found that cirsiliol is present in the plants such as Artemisia campestris, Artemisia scoparia, Centaurea jacea, Centaurea phyllocephala, Crossostephium chinense, Dracocephalum tanguticum, Eupatorium lindleyanum, Hyptis pectinata, and Iris germanica. Pharmacological data analysis revealed the biological importance of cirsiliol against cancer, inflammatory diseases, obesity-related insulin resistance, and respiratory disorders. However, the biological potential on ileum, benzodiazepine receptor, arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase, and xanthine oxidase has also been well summarized in the present investigation. High-performance liquid chromatography, bioactivity-guided isolation techniques, UPLC-ESI-MS/MS, LCMS and HPLC, and other forms of chromatographic techniques have been applicable for the analysis of cirsiliol in the various plants material. Conclusion: The present investigation revealed the biological importance and therapeutic benefit of cirsiliol in medicine for the development of better remedies against human disorders.
Aim: Plants derived bioactive compounds play an important role in the traditional and modern medicine and some of the best examples are morphine, papaverine, vinblastine, vincristine and ephedrine. Flavonoids are naturally occurred phenolic compounds found to be present in the different medicinal plants and responsible for their attractive shades in the nature. Flavonoidal compounds have been well known in the medicine for their anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, antihyperlipidemia and anti-apoptotic activities. Methods: In order to know the therapeutic benefit of ginkgetin in the medicine, here in the present investigation different scientific databases have been searched to collect the important scientific information of ginkgetin with respect to the medicinal importance and pharmacological activities. Different scientific databases such as Google, PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus and Google Scholar have been searched to collect the important scientific information of the ginkgetin in the present work. All the collected scientific information’s have been analyzed for the medicinal importance, pharmacological activities and analytical aspects of ginkgetin. Results: Literature databases analysis using various scientific databases such as Google, PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus and Google Scholar revealed that ginkgetin is biflavonoids found to be present in the Ginkgo biloba leaves and have been used in the traditional and allopathic medicine. Databases analysis signified that ginkgetin have effectiveness against inflammatory disorders, lipid peroxidation, prostate cancer, DNA damage, renal cell carcinoma, osteosarcoma and small cell lung cancer. Different analytical techniques for the quantification of ginkgetin have been also included in the present investigation. Conclusion: Present study revealed the biological importance and therapeutic benefit of ginkgetin in the medicine which could be used for the development of effective medicine against human disorders and associated complications.
The results strongly justify the use of this plant for the treatment of anxiety. Further studies are in progress in this laboratory to isolate and identify the components responsible for the anxiolytic activity and the mechanism of action involved.
: Natural products have been always used in the medicine for the discovery of new biological molecule against different types of human disorders. Crude drugs have been used in the different system of medicine including Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic System of Medicine. From the ancient time to till this modern age special emphasis have been given to the traditional knowledge of plants based product for the development of newer and better modern drugs. Traditional medicines are always better choices in the medicine and healthcare system by the people of developing countries for the treatment of human disorders. Polyphenolic compounds have been used in the medicine due their vast medicinal application and pharmacological activities. Flavonoidal class chemical are the better examples of polyphenolic compounds which have 15-carbon skeleton chemical structure. Salvigenin is a pure flavonoid class phytochemical found to be present in the Salvia lachnocalyx, Salvia hydrangea and Plectranthus amboinicus and other medicinal plants and vegetables. Pharmacologically salvigenin has been found to have cytotoxic effects on various forms of cancer cells such as colon adenocarcinoma, breast adenocarcinoma and glioblastoma. Further salvigenin has beneficial potential in the medicine for the treatment of diabetes and protects cells against the oxidative stress. In order to know the therapeutic benefit of salvigenin in the medicine, here in the present study all the scientific research data of salvigenin have been collected and analyzed for their biological significance in the medicine. Detail pharmacological investigation has been done to know the better medicinal properties of the salvigenin in the modern medicine. Analytical techniques used in the separation, isolation and identification of salvigenin have been also searched and presented in the present work. From the above presented data it was found that salvigenin has significant biological potential in the medicine and could be used for the development of the newer and better molecule or drugs against various forms of human disorders including cancerous disorders.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
