Introduction. One of the characteristic manifestations of COVID-19 is a disorder of smell, which, according to the literature, occurs in 61.2% - 85.6% of patients with COVID-19. The article discusses the problems of post-viral dysosmia in COVID-19 convalescents. Purpose of the study. Evaluation of olfactory disorders in patients after coronavirus infection and the possibility of obtaining additional benefits from prescribing bioregulatory medicine drugs.Materials and methods. The assessment of the severity of olfactory disorders in patients, taking into account the age according to self-assessment data using a visual analogue scale, as well as an objective assessment of odor identification using the Sniffin ‘Sticks Screening 12 Test. The possibility of increasing the efficiency of recovery of olfactory disorders by prescribing complex preparations of bioregulatory therapy (main group) was studied.Results. The percentage of persons who fully restored the olfactory function in the main group was 56.5%, while in the patients of the control group only in 6.6%. Faster (on the 7th day) dynamics of identification testing using SST-12 in patients taking complex preparations of bioregulation therapy was noted. On the 3rd day of therapy, there was a significant decrease in anxiety in patients treated with bioregulatory drugs.Discussion. The conducted study objectively confirmed that the olfactory disorder is present in the vast majority of patients with ARS. The appointment of bioregulatory therapy contributes to the early restoration of the olfactory function.Conclusions. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that it is advisable to use bioregulatory drugs.
The article presents the materials of a retrospective analysis of the structure of diseases in the class of «ear and mastoid diseases» (according to the code ICD-10 H60-H95) in the adult population of the Samara region (SR) for the period from 2016 to 2019. The incidence and prevalence of chronic sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) (code ICD-10 H90.3), mixed form of hearing loss (code ICD-10 H90.6) and conductive hearing loss (code ICD-10 H90.0) are considered. The dynamics of the adult population in the SR generally repeats the trend characteristic of the Volga Federal District in terms of an increase in the proportion of people over working age. Despite the natural decline in the region’s population in recent years, there has been an increase in the proportion of people over working age, which amounted to 10.,01%. The changes were reflected in the prevalence in the class of «ear and mastoid diseases»: in persons of the older age group, the indicator increased by 7,12%, in persons of working age by 0,61%. In the adult population of the region, there is an increase in cases of hearing loss of a mixed and sound-perceiving character, with consistently low rates of conductive hearing loss. In both groups of the adult population of the Samara region in 2016–2019, an increase in the cases of SNHL and hearing loss of a mixed nature was revealed. Moreover, in persons older than working age, the number of SNHL cases during the analyzed period was on average 2,32 times higher, and the number of mixed hearing loss cases was 2.2 times higher. The data of the study must be taken into account for planning the timely detection and examination of adults with hearing loss when they turn to an otorhinolaryngologist-audiologist, as well as to general practitioners and geriatricians, which will maximize their ability to work and social activity.
The article presents the results of studying the main indicators of occupational morbidity in Samara region for the period of 2011–2015. The authors have analyzed the dynamics and structure of professional sensorineural hearing loss in Samara region. A steady increase in the frequency of detection of hearing impairments of professional genesis has been noted.
The article presents the results of study of regional demographic data of principal age groups taking into account the territorial distribution in 2014–2016. The authors carried out a comparative analysis of data of total morbidity and morbidity by the classes of ≪ear and mastoid diseases” and ≪respiratory diseases≫ in dynamics for the period 2014–2016 with an emphasis on hearing pathology. The authors carried out an analysis of the structure of ENT pathology and comorbid conditions in patients of the older age group of Samara Regional Clinical Hospital for War Veterans (SOKGVV). As a result, a stable growth of elderly and senile people in the population of the region was noted, peculiarities of the structure of ENT pathology in SOKGVV patients were revealed and their comorbid profile was studied.
The article presents a clinical case of a patient of the otorhinolaryngology department of the Samara Clinical Hospital No. 8 who had a new coronavirus infection. Complications were manifested by primary thrombosis of the orbital veins, facial veins, followed by the spread of the process into the pterygoid plexus, veins of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. The study analyzes the dynamics of the clinical picture and compares it with the results of the postmortem examination. Vascular thrombosis of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses during X-ray examination can manifest itself as a decrease in pneumatization of the sinuses with possible minor exudation due to ischemic changes in the mucous membrane. Thrombosis developing with underlying COVID-19-associated coagulopathy can have different initial localizations and are a formidable complication with a high mortality rate. Patients who have undergone COVID-19 need to control the coagulogram not only during the illness, but also during the period of convalescence and early periods after recovery.
