Some universal tends and trends in the sphere of linguistic economy at the lexical level are considered in the present article based on everyday communication contexts within the stylized colloquial fragments from modern English drama discourse. Moreover discursive markers providing the adequate interpretation of linguistic economy means and ways are discussed in view of the vital necessity to communicate effectively with minimum of speech efforts in the epoch of globalization. The purpose of this work was to identify the language characteristics and composition of the economical linguistic means of the English language in everyday communication, as well as to describe their role in the analyzed type of English discourse. Detailed study of the principle oflinguisticeconomy was made on the material of contemporary English and American playwrights of the end of ХХ the beginning of XXI centuries. The methods of linguistic description, structural-syntactic and semantic-syntactic analysis are used in the article.During the research the following overall findings are revealed: the compression in the modern English language is a highly efficient mean of linguistic economy. At the syntactical level of the linguistic system the concept of economy is implemented in ellipsis, as well as secondary predicative constructions. At the phonetic level, the principle of linguistic economy is reflected in such factors as assimilation, adaptation, qualitative and quantitative reduction. At the morphological level-in the survey. At the syntactical level (the phrase level) the linguistic economy is expressed in abbreviation. The research materials provide a wide field for further investigation on the linguistic economy in constantly changing everyday communication.
Взаимодействие медиакультурных маркеров в контексте межкультурной коммуникации оказывает влияние как на расширение тематики публикаций в социальной сети, так и на распространение англоязычных тенденций с целью успешной адаптации к условиям иностранной коммуникативной реальности, что требует подробного изучения в терминах современной науки о языке, включая закон экономии языковых средств.Цель. В статье содержится описание итогов научного осмысления роли и места средств языковой экономии в определенном типе англоязычного текстового интернет-пространства, которое базируется на взаимодействии лингвокультурных маркеров в контексте социальной сети TWITTER.Метод или методология проведения работы. В настоящем исследовании используются следующие общенаучные методы исследования: описательный метод, метод наблюдения, методы количественной оценки и классификации, сопровождаемые такими специальными методами, как системный подход к лингвистическому и семантическому анализу, элементы дискурсивного анализа.Результаты. Анализ средств ускорения передачи информации в англоязычных интернет текстах Твиттера позволил сделать вывод о том, что основными видами компрессии информации в текстах сети являются различные виды телескопии, аббревиации и словообразования. В настоящее время изучение экономии распространяется в наибольшей степени на лексику. Способы актуализации закона экономии языковых средств выполняют определенные функции в различных типах дискурса, и играют особенно важную роль в интернет-коммуникации.Область применения результатов. Результаты исследования могут быть применены для развития науки о языке в терминах когнитивной лингвистики и прагмалингвистики, теории дискурса, социолингвистики и стилистики английского языка.
The present article is aimed at examining the effect of linguistic economy within the modern university English-speaking environment based on the institutional educational discourse. A huge number of people are involved in the virtual space today including both students and teaching staff, and due to that expansion, the active application of this media channel is accompanied by increasing intercultural character and fast adaption of English-speaking trends to the conditions of foreign communicative reality. It is highly relevant nowadays to identify and systematize the structural and semantic features of English texts in the format of corresponding messages. It is also necessary to mention the cognitive information variety and integrity of Internet textual chats, characterized by language economy markers. The following general scientific methods and research means are applied in the present study: a descriptive method, method of observation, quantification and classification methods accompanied by special ways and means of systematic approach to linguistic analysis, and elements of discourse analysis. As a result of linguistic analysis of the corresponding language units located on educational platforms of English and American universities, it was discovered that Internet communication tends to resist awkwardness and superfluity. At the lexical level, small-format messages are characterized by the presence of various types of abbreviations and neologisms. At the syntactic level, the desire to save time and energy finds verbal expression in the abundance of short sentences, homogeneous sentence members, passive and secondary predicative constructions. In phonetics the principle of linguistic economy is evidently manifesting itself in assimilation
Searching new effective ways in teaching-learning educational policy modern school and university revise and redraft the educational programmes and curricula on a regular basis. The great amount of study time is devoted to the students independent work as it is considered to be an essential part in current-day teaching/learning process. Though, neither the management procedures nor practices have found a settlement. The article discusses the acute patterns of the traditional teaching-learning system of a foreign language and determines the main points in the effective guidance algorithm of the students independent work provided with the scientific approach to the class assignment.
