As a result of the research, the technology of accelerated forming on the sol-silicate binder in precision casting has been developed. It is based on granular materials cladding by the gel-processing catalysts of the sol-silicate binder and on the use of the clad granular materials as the stucco of ceramic coating layers. That allows to achieve a reduction of ceramic molds product cycle of more than 2...2.5 times and strength improvement of 1.4...1.5 times at the temperature of baking. The developed technology allows to improve the quality of ceramic molds and significantly shorten the forming cycle. Production tests of the gel-processing clad stucco in the investment casting showed a significant reduction of the reject precision castings, acceleration of ceramic molds production and a reduction of the working hours on removing "wedged" ceramic from less-accessible cast section cavities of the pump parts from complex alloyed steels.
The technologies of molding from cold-hardening mixtures based on organic resins and inorganic metal phosphate binders are compared. The use of the latter is preferable for a number of technological indicators. Also, without additional investments, the problem of labor and environmental protection is completely solved.
The article considers an advanced method of ceramic mold and rod forming from liquid mixtures on non-organic bonding materials. Their application allows significantly improving the environmental situation and, at the same time, making molds and rods better in terms of their mechanical properties. In its turn, it results in a more precise geometry of the molds obtained. The developed composition allows applying only Russian materials, lowering the net cost comparing with a conventional business of ceramic mold casting (Shaw process) while providing high technological properties of forms and rods. The authors conducted the analysis of the phase composition of technological materials and provided a rationale for possible import substitution. The experimental part of the research work contains two series of experiments; the first one included the selection of the ceramic mix composition by the amount of gelatinization agent. The second series of experiments studied the impact of vacuum processing on the properties of rods after their curing. The authors present experimental precise molds for the oil and gas complex of the Russian Federation.
A relevant technology issue in lost foam casting is preventing the metal penetration appearance on steel and cast-iron mouldings. As a result of the research the appropriate parting model paint compositions with the use of recycling and nanostructured materials were developed. The basic technological characteristics of the developed parting model paint compositions are: relative stickiness due to VZ-6 18...25 s; residual moisture content 1...1.5 %, permeability to gases 40...50 ea. The parting paint effectiveness is determined by defect reduction of the castings on the core blow, uncertainty in geometry, metal penetration, and also the use of available and environmentally friendly molding materials in their composition, that makes the product to be highly competitive.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
