The paper deals with resultant stator-field vector control for a voltage-source inverter fed wound-excited salientpole synchronous motor with damper bars. Two control strategies are presented: one for the constant, uncontrolled excitation and the other for controlled exciting current. The first method ensures the control of the stator-field oriented longitudinal armature reaction, which determines the character (inductive or capacitive) of the stator current. The second method with variable exciting current works with imposed power factor, controlled angular speed and controlled stator flux. Simulation (using Matlab/Simulink environment) and implementations (on an experimental rig based on a dSPACE DS1104 controller card) were carried out.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
