Several methods for the synthesis of metal-free phthalocyanine (Pc or PcH2) and copper
phthalocyanine (PcCu) from urea and phthalic anhydride, phthalimide, 1,3-diiminoisoindoline
(1,3-D), and phthalonitrile have been studied. The results show that the nature of the solvent
is the most important factor in the conventional chemical and direct electrochemical synthesis
of the final products. Different routes for phthalocyanine preparation are discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
