In this study, the ignition criteria in the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) associated with helium concentration is investigated. The main fuels used in this study are deuterium-tritium. Helium as the ash of deuterium-tritium reaction cannot be avoided. In this work, the effects of alpha particle concentration on plasma operation are investigated. The calculations were performed by using zero-dimensional power and particle balance equations. The results of our calculations show that the temporal evolution of alpha particle concentration becomes constant at 0.14. Then, ignition criteria and saddle points have been studied in neτE
-T, and Phtτ2E
-T planes for different alpha particle concentrations.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
