This study aims at analyzing the unsustainability causes of kalego as one of traditional games of Muna communities in Watopute District, Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. Data collection was conducted through participant observation, interviews, surveys, and focused discussion. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively and descriptive statistic by employing data reduction technique, data presentation and conclusion. The results showed that kalego traditional game has been degraded or unsustainably practiced as the impact of the low awareness and low understanding among Muna community toward this traditional game. Approximately 71.25% Muna community in Watopute district cannot play the traditional game. The unsustainability of kalego was caused by several factors namely; 1) the absence of the family inheritance about kalego traditional game and the decreasing number of old figures who understand Muna culture contribute to the decreasing of local culture knowledge among younger generations; 2) Cultural encounters which results incorporated acculturation toward Muna's local culture; 3) the absence of the massive kalego game staging.
Some peatland management cases, particularly in Kalimantan, cause serious environmental problems, especially in flammable land. Local people around the area are the first to receive the impacts. Therefore, peatland management needs to be prudent and requires sustainable environmental management. This study aims to find a model for peatland management carried out by the government and local communities through BUMDes program. According to the interview results and field observations, peatland management with a collaborative model between the government (state) and the local community in Rasau Jaya Village is found in the form of Maju Jaya Village-owned Enterprises (BUMDes). This research includes planning, utilization, management, and supervision of the peatland area. The government provides funds and legality, while the local communities carry out peatland utilization, management, and maintenance through mutual cooperation culture. In this study, peatland functions as a tourist attraction managed by the local community (ecotourism). Real implementation government collaboration with the local community has opened up new livelihoods for communities without undermining peatlands' ecological ecosystem.
Food is a critical aspect of community resilience. The Covid-19 pandemic, however, has affected the natural environment, making food supply scarce and ultimately impacting economic and national stability. Despite this, the Mowewe community shares a local culture by which its people get empowered to maintain food security. Therefore, this study aims to discover and describe the local community's culture in Mowewe District in establishing a food security system. The method used was ethnography with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, after which the data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The findings revealed that the local culture of the Mowewe community was built upon the concept of Mekambare, principles of gotong royong (cooperation), and ecological adaptation. The Mowewe community was of deep concern for the pattern of life balance during the pandemic. They took advantage of natural resources by clearing agricultural land to grow rice, corn, patchouli, and sago and keeping bees in the forest to produce honey for an additional source of income and immunity
The very significant distribution of the Corona Virus Disease (Covid 19) continues to show an increase, thus stimulating the government's fast and precise work in its efforts to overcome it. Various ways have been carried out by the government, especially the Southeast Sulawesi provincial government, both in the nature of implementation in the field through spraying disinfectants, or through circulars and oral announcements related to Covid 19, including appeals to Work From Home and social distancing which is conveyed officially through YouTube recordings and letters circular. However, not a few people pay attention to this, which is shown by the many activities that involve many people. Therefore, efforts are needed that can be more effective from the government, including using persuasive actions by touching public awareness, one of which can be done through the local language. By using the local language approach, this service is carried out to raise public awareness of the importance of preventing the transmission of Covid 19 where the virus has caused deaths of up to 9%, which is currently still increasing in number. In addition to regional languages, this service also targets people's understanding, especially youth, of foreign terms related to the Covid 19 pandemic, both in terms of health and social, food and economic sectors which are very close to everyday life but are still poorly understood by them. An understanding of these terms is important, given their inherent impact on the public profession.
