Scientific literacy is a capability to identify problems, analyze questions, and create solutions by applying scientific knowledge and integrating science with technology and society. This literacy needs to be improved so that students can develop their skills in identifying science phenomenon and addressing various solutions. Although the learning was conducted in distance since the current situation is still amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the literacy can be taught during the learning process. This study aims to improve students’ scientific literacy through distance learning with augmented reality-based multimedia amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The research included in a descriptive quantitative study with pre-test and post-test design. The distance learning was conducted in the lecture of anatomy and physiology of organism during even semester in May 2020, with 111 students from three classes in the 2018 academic year. The science content provided in online learning was supported by augmented-reality based multimedia on the topic of the human respiratory system. This multimedia was evaluated, also stated as valid and appropriate to be implemented in the learning process. Scientific literacy was measured using the online test form. The findings indicated that the students’ scientific literacy improved moderately both in class A and B, but low in class C. The improvement of scientific literacy in class A reached N-gain average score of 0.31, class B reached 0.38, and class C reached 0.22. Students also gave a positive response, showed by the percentages of students’ response at 89.1% in class A, 87.0% in class B, and 84.8% in class C, which was in the very strong category. Therefore, it can be concluded that students’ scientific literacy improved well through distance learning with augmented reality-based multimedia amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
This study is preliminary research of secondary metabolite potential from medicinal Herb Madura. This study aims to know the medicinal plants used in the medicinal herb Madura and the phytochemical content contained in these medicinal plants. The method used in this study is a survey to know the kinds of medicinal plants used in Madura Herb. Then a phytochemical screening test for the medicinal plant was performed. The phytochemical screening test used are alkaloids, steroids, saponins, and flavonoids. Based on the research, it is found that 66 medicinal plants are widely used for "Ramuan Madura” in Bangkalan. Of the 66 plants selected, Madura five medicinal plants widely used by the Madurense; Parameria laevigata, Kaempferia galanga L., Curcuma domestica, Curcuma xanthorrhiza, dan Punica granatum. Then the preliminary phytochemical test to determine the secondary metabolite compounds. Secondary metabolite content obtained include alkaloids, saponins, steroids, and flavonoids.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh self confidence terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa melalui penerapan model problem based learning di VII SMP Negeri 4 Bangkalan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain penelitia Pre-Experimental Design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII. Sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas VII D sebagai kelas eksperimen. Teknik analisis data pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji Regresi Linier sederhana dengan program SPSS versi 18.00. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji Regeresi Linier diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,048 pada signifikansi 0,05 (0,048 0,05) maka Ho ditolak dan H1 diterima. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh self confidence terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa melalui penerapa model problem based learning. Hasil analisis data menujukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata self confidence sebesar 74,48 dengan kriteria tinggi. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata pemahaman konsep sebesar 81,49 dengan kriteria baik.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi model pembelajaran cooperative problem solving dengan strategi heuristik terhadap kemampuan literasi sains. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MTs. Saiful Ulum Kecamatan Tanjungbumi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh: (1) terdapat perbedaan literasi sains peserta didik yang menggunakan model Pembelajaran cooperative problem solving dengan strategi heuristik dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 0,05, sedangkan –Ztabel ≥ Zhitung ≥ Ztabel (-5,172 ≥ -5,173 ≤ 5,172). (2) kemampuan literasi sains kelas kontrol aspek konteks memperoleh presentase 37% dengan kategori sains kurang sekali, aspek knowledge sebesar 47% dengan kategori kurang sekali. Rata-rata kemampuan level literasi sains berada pada level 2, 3, dan 4. Kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik pada kelas ekperimen aspek konteks memperoleh presentase 58% dengan kategori kurang sedangkan pada aspek knowledge memperoleh rata-rata presentase 71% dengan kategori cukup. Rata-rata kemampuan level literasi sains berada pada level 3, 4, 5, dan 6. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara pembelajaran pemecahan masalah dalam melatihkan kemampuan literasi sains.
