Limites e desafios da comunicação efetiva para a segurança do paciente: um discurso coletivoLimits and challenges of effective communication for patient safety: a collective discourse Límites y desafíos de la comunicación efectiva para la seguridad del paciente: un discurso colectivo ABSTRACT Objective:This study aims to analyze the challenges of the communication process experienced by nurses in providing care and influencing patient safety. Method: It is a descriptive study, exploratory study with a qualitative approach performed with nurses who composed the Neuroscience clinic. For the data collection, a semi-structured interview was made up of sociodemographic and objective questions about the subject. The technique of Collective Subject Discourse was used for data analysis. Results: From the reports of the professionals emerged seven discourses, were grouped by categories, which corresponded to the content that was intended to be obtained. The nursing assistants' discourses demonstrate several existing communication flaws, and risks, which can trigger potential adverse events; the results presented evidence the way professionals act and think. Conclusion: It is essential to implement actions to follow the work process, necessarily in the field of communication; as well as the accomplishment of capacities and activities ofcontinuing education with focus to the practices of effective communication the health services.
