Three organizational simulations were developed to assess three levels of military personnel at Army assessment centers.. Eleven leadership diminsions were used in the assessment, simulations were eeveloped to elicit behaviors relevant to those dimensions.. Procedures and instruments for evaluating the relevant behaviors were developed, as were materials suitable for training assessment center personnel to use in conducting simulations and performing assessments._ It was concluded that organizational simulationS contribute an aspect to assessment center programs that is not obtainable through other techniques, that simulations are dependent for valid and reliable data upon observance of standard assessment practices, and that their effective use as assessment devices depends upon the competence of the staff responsible for conducting the simulations and making the assessments.
