The aim of this paper is to analyze the future perspectives of the new technologies of Concentrated Solar Power systems (CSP) systems. The author proves that new CSP technologies like the "Central Receiver and Parabolic Trough" can be used as a key instrument for secure and affordable Energy Supply in Europe by the DESERTEC project.
One essential part of e-business is the exchange of product data between business partners. Classifications have been developed as a means to clearly describe the semantics of product descriptions. They provide schema elements like properties and classes and define their semantics by some formal relationships and some textual (informal) definitions. This chapter gives an overview about the modelling levels that have to be considered for the development and use of classifications. In addition, it introduces briefly ISO 13584 (PLIB) as one important data model for classifications and it characterizes a number of classifications which are used in today’s product exchange processes. Many of the classification standards use a quite primitive data model which leads to problems in their use and maintenance. By exploiting some features of more advanced data models, many of these problems can be overcome. The authors propose the introduction of additional class hierarchies as an example for adding more flexibility to a classification and discuss this proposal in the context of eCl@ss, an important European classification.
The following paper presents the work being done on the comparative design, simulation and experiments concerning advanced digital linear control techniques for power inverters. Based on an existing inverter topology being developed and implemented, with a conventional DSPprogrammed PI control, a research is done on more advanced linear control techniques that might improve the PI response, allowing at the same time a separate regulation of active and reactive power for electricity connection to the grid.
In classification systems like eCl@ss [1], UNSPSC [2], or Nato Code [3] the number of classes grows and the number of properties to describe the products of given classes grows. New ontologies following ISO 13584 [4, 5] with better data models for the classification are prepared and will be installed within the next years to manage the classification of commodities and to support e-commerce. Opportunities of the new ontologies are discussed and problems we meet in the transition from the old data models to the new ontologies.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
