The paper aims to provide a summary of the risk management tools suitable for use by small enterprises, thru the use of a bibliometric analysis and a systematic review. The tools term was used in order to encapsulate all the models, methodologies and techniques encountered in the review process. The initial data set utilized is comprised of 243 papers for the bibliometric analysis, with only 30 articles being taken into consideration for the systematic review. The papers considered for the review fall into the Pareto distribution, accounting for approximately 80% of the total citations. The usefulness of the paper resides in the synthesized presentation of the tools discovered, providing a potential guide, for managers or business owners of small enterprises, in the research for risk management tools that could be implemented.
The paper's objectives were to determine, from a statistical viewpoint, the core research papers on the subject of small business risk, and to elaborate the mapping of the principal types of risk discovered. In order to achieve the stated result, a bibliometric analysis was performed on the topic of small business risk, and all the forms considered by the authors. The query generated 508 articles, identified in the WoS database. The mapping of the keywords was realized with the help of Vosviewer. The interest in the topic has grown since 1990, reaching a maximum of 51 papers in 2021. The literature was split into two clusters, one covering the impact of the markets and the financial risk, the second one focusing on the entrepreneurial and strategic risk. The originality resides in finding the risk associated with a small business, generating a mapping of the possible uncertainty facing a firm. The usefulness of the paper could be found in the compact display of risks that might be encountered by a small business, from which business owners or managers can prepare a strategy, especially in unpredictable environments induced by the Covid pandemic and the high level of inflation.
The paper aims to discover if the particular macroeconomic factors are influencing the capacity of small businesses in Romania to generate more added value in the national economy. In order to analyze the impact of the selected phenomenon on the performance of the businesses as expressed by the ratio of the added value, a regression analysis, a correlation test and a co-integration test were performed. The novelty of the paper is represented by the focus on the small firms, elements often included in the bigger category of SMEs. The results are showing that only two of the six factors selected could be test for correlation and co integration, the annual inflation and the average exchange rate between the national currency and the EURO.

The distribution of published papers in terms of years, authors, institutions, countries, journals, the network of co-authors, co-citations, and the cooccurrence of keywords is discussed. The main conclusions regarding the research trends in the field are drawn. The study represents a useful resource for those interested in the field of e-lerning in the academic environment in the context of COVID-19 that captures the main changes produced in the field and the potential research directions.
