Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is all about companies managing their business process to produce the overall positive impact on the society. The interest for CSR has grown rapidly the recent years and people started to demand corporate social responsibility from the company. CSR is connected with corporate behaving ethically, morally and socially responsible towards the society. This research focuses on investigating why companies engage in CSR, how they apply CSR and how CSR can affect financial performance. It was found that the employees and the people in general do get motivated by their organization. All the respondents were very positive and energized about being part of the CSR activities provided with the opportunities. BOK Ltd has focused their CSR activities related with the health, education and environment with the name as BOK health, BOK education and BOK environment initiation. BOK has tried to cover the different aspect of essential factors in anyone’s life. Majority of the respondents’ views that CSR activities has the positive relation and can contribute on the financial performance of the company as it increases the good image and goodwill of the organization. CSR needs planning and proper implementation so that the society could actually have positive impact from CSR activities.In Nepalese context the organization do not emphasize in CSR activities rather they give priorities to earn more profit and flourish their business.NCC JournalVol. 3, No. 1, 2018, page: 90-99
This paper analysis investors’ preference towards mutual fund. The study was conducted inside the Kathmandu valley. In terms of familiarity with the various financial securities currently available in the Nepalese capital market, investors have high familiarity with fixed deposits, medium familiarity with shares and low familiarity with bonds and debentures and money market instruments. Incase of the preference for the structure of the mutual fund, more than two-third of the total respondent were in favor of Close Ended Mutual Funds. Potential investors of mutual funds prefer family members followed by self-analysis as a medium for getting understanding to create the awareness of mutual funds; TV Advertisement and Print Newspaper are effective, as these sources are preferred by the potential investors. This study concludes that mutual funds could be an admirable institution for bridging the gap between the individual savers and the established business in Nepal. Investors are showing more interest in mutual fund these days.
This study examines the effects of performance appraisal systems on employees’ performance in joint venture banks. It focuses on the employees’ awareness of the appraisal system and their knowledge of the appraisal system and performance appraisal management, leading to effective employee performance in joint venture banks. This was a research project that was meant to be descriptive. Questionnaires were the methods of data collection and 100 respondents from Everest bank, Himalayan bank and NABIL bank were studied. Moreover, the collected data were analyzed and processed using a computer program (excel) and indicated clearly on tables. The study results exposed that employee performance appraisal at Everest bank, Himalayan bank and NABIL bank is not effective and not very well utilized. The mainstream employees were unaware and were absent knowledge of the performance appraisal practiced in their organizations. They were not involved in an argument with supervisors and were not given sufficient time to organize for the meeting as an outcome; there’s no feedback delivered to employees afterwards appraisal. These banks do not use the available appraisal system for making important employee decisions. Employee performance appraisal should be implemented properly to meet a certain organization’s context, according to the recommendations, communication between employees and management decisions like disciplinary actions, promotion and training.

This research paper presents the Knowledge Management practice in Nepalese telecom sector. This study is based on cross section analysis of 85 observations for analyzing relationship between the knowledge management (KM) practices status in Nepalese telecom sector. The methodology used by Kohli (1993) and Daroch (2003) has been used for the research. Survey instruments we reorganized into one part and five factors. Spearman Rank Correlation, Analysis of variance (ANOVA), Cranach’s alpha etc. is used for data analysis. The valid response rate of 70 % was found. Among the factors that designed for knowledge acquisition, information input- employee has less mean score and information input-financial has high mean score than the others factors. In case of Information input-competitors, Nepalese telecom industry analyzes the financial contribution of their products or services. Employees of Nepal telecom has rated higher mean value in the KM practices i.e. knowledge acquisition, which means Nepal telecom appeared good in KM practices than Ncell. There is a significant difference between Nepal telecom and Ncell in term of the knowledge acquisition. Nepal telecom has better KA (Knowledge Acquisition) practices. Correlation matrix was computed to assess the extent or degree of relationship in between the factors or the research variables.
