Herein we reported an efficient palladium-catalyzed enantioselective arylation of both alkyl and aryl sulfenate anions to deliver various chiral sulfoxides in good yields (up to 98%) with excellent enantioselectivities (up to 99% ee) by the use of our developed chiral O,P-ligands (PC-Phos). PC-Phos are easily prepared in short steps from inexpensive commercially available starting materials. The single-crystal structure of the PC4/PdCl showed that a rarely observed 11-membered ring was formed via the O,P-coordination with the palladium(II) center. The salient features of this method include general substrate scope, ease of scale-up, applicable to the late-stage modification of bioactive compounds, and the synthesis of a marketed medicine Sulindac.
The benzoyl peroxide-promoted α-phenanthridinylation of ether by isocyanide is developed, proceeding through dual C-H bond cleavage and dual C-C bond formation. The procedure tolerates a series of functional groups, such as methyl, fluoro, chloro, acetyl, methoxy carbonyl, cyano, and trifluoromethyl. Thus, it represents a facile pathway leading to 6-substituted phenanthridine derivatives. The addition of radical to the isonitrile followed by a radical aromatic cyclization is involved in this transformation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
