This research is motivated by the low student mathematical resilience. The purpose of this study is to look at the achievement of mathematical resilience of students who obtain learning using Microsoft Excel VBA with those using conventional learning. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent pretest and posttest control group design. The subjects of this study were 70 second semester elementary school teacher candidates at IKIP Siliwangi. The instruments in this study used non-tests in the form of questionnaires and interviews. The results show that, 1) the achievement of mathematical resilience of students who get learning using Microsoft Excel VBA is better than those using conventional learning; 2) students who learn with Microsoft Excel VBA tend to be able to overcome difficulties if given difficult math problems, anxiety and fear in working on math problems are reduced, and more confident in expressing mathematical opinions/ideas; 3) mathematical resilience is not an instant thing to change so it needs environmental support so that students’ mathematical resilience becomes better.
4C skills have become part of the current elementary school curriculum, which is expected to improve the quality of education so that graduates are ready to compete in the global world. Student worksheet, based on the RADEC model, is needed as a learning tool that can help participants practice 4C skills. This study aims to develop and validate the Student Worksheet based on the RADEC model on the theme of aerial skills-oriented 21st century: critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication (4C). This research and development (R&D) use the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). This research was carried out until the development stage or validation stage. The validity of the student worksheet is determined by an assessment of media, materials, and language on a scale of four, validated by twenty-five teachers who have attended the RADEC model workshop for three days. The data obtained were tabulated by calculating the validity of the quantitative and descriptive analysis. The development results show that the student worksheet based on the RADEC model to train 4C skills is declared valid with the calculation results Vh>Vt or Vh> 0.64 and is suitable for use in learning. This research can be used as information on the development and validation of teaching materials, especially student worksheet, based on the RADEC model to train 4C skills in science materials in elementary schools.
Secara umum, tujuan jangka panjang program pengabdian ini adalah mengembangkan suatu proses pengabdian melalui penyuluhan bagi guru-guru SD dalam upaya menumbuhkan kesadaran lingkungan kepada guru-guru SD di sekitar Sungai Citarum tentang hakekat sains dalam pembelajaran. Adapun target khusus yang ingin dicapai adalah meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran lingkungan serta pemahaman strategi dan pendekatan pembelajaran yang mungkin dilakukan guru-guru SD mengenai pentingnya pelestarian lingkungan melalui konteks lingkungan di sekitar Sungai Citarum yang dikaitkan dengan hakekat sains untuk pembelajaran SD. Metode pelaksanaan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini dikelompokan menjadi empat tahap kegiatan yaitu tahap persiapan terdiri dari kegiatan observasi, pelaksanaan terdiri dari kegiatan penyuluhan, evaluasi terdiri dari kegiatan mengevaluasi kegiatan, dan penyelesaian terdiri dari kegiatan penyusunan laporan dan publikasi luaran kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu guru-guru memahami mengenai pentingnya pelestarian lingkungan melalui konteks lingkungan di sekitar Sungai Citarum yang dikaitkan dengan hakekat sains, terwujudnya kesadaran guru-guru SD akan pentingnya pelestarian lingkungan serta guru-guru SD memahami strategi dan pendekatan pembelajaran yang mungkin dilakukan, yang menjadi dasar untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran mengenai pentingnya pelestarian lingkungan dikaitkan dengan pembelajaran di SD.
This research is motivated by thinking skills and awareness of the importance of mathematics needs to be taught and trained to students from an early age because in daily life many things are related to thinking skills and awareness of the importance of mathematics in everyday life. The purpose of this study is to analyze mathematical thinking skills from the perspective of multiple intelligences of elementary school students. This research uses a qualitative approach and uses descriptive qualitative methods. The population in this study was Grade V Elementary School Students in Cimahi City, while the sample consisted of 20 students. The instrument used consisted of multiple intelligences tests in the form of a questionnaire logical-mathematical, intrapersonal, and interpersonal logic intelligence. The results showed that the intelligence of logical-mathematical and intrapersonal based on multiple intelligences of elementary school students in Cimahi in 2020 each was in the medium category. While interpersonal intelligence is in between medium and low categories.
