Development of a high-efficient heterogeneous catalyst is very important for the preparation of organic azides compounds in modern synthetic chemistry. Acidic mesoporous Beta, mesoporous ZSM-5, and mesopore-free ZSM-5 zeolite were used as supports for the preparation of Fe (Fe/Beta-M, Fe/ZSM-5-M, & Fe/ZSM-5) catalysts and were applied the carboazidation of N-arylacrylamides with azidotrimethylsilane. The influence of pore size, acidities, and metal of the catalysts on reaction activity was investigated by X-ray powder diffraction, N 2 adsorption isotherm, scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic, and temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia. The characterization and activity results show that the acidity, Fe species (Fe 2+ and Fe 3+ ) and mesoporosity in the Fe/Beta-M catalyst jointly contribute to this reaction, and Fe/Beta-M catalyst shows higher catalytic activity than Fe/ZSM-5-M, Fe/ZSM-5, and FeCl 3 catalysts.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
