Social demographic studies in Vietnam have shown a growing trend of an ageing population. Demographic trends project that one third of the Vietnamese population will be aged 65 years and older by 2050. Vietnam is a country where the majority of the elderly live with their children, with little savings and pension. The purpose of this review was to explore existing literature on models of care for an ageing population and provide evidence to develop a care model that is suitable for the ageing community in Vietnam. A systematic review utilizing the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) framework was carried out. An extensive literature search was performed, with a focus on articles and other materials with relevance to elderly care in Vietnam in terms of socio-economic, demographic, and associated factors based on comprehensive data sources. The review found that there is a lack of evidence of professional practice for caring for the aged in Vietnam. There also is a lack of evidence of government support for the limited community initiatives to support the ageing. There exist no community models of care for the ageing population in Vietnam. From a global perspective, there exist alternative models of care options to support the elderly through various care models, such as living in assisted-care facilities, home care, and other assistance. Inter-professional practice care models and health services were found to be essential for an ageing population. There is limited literature specifically for the care of an ageing population in Vietnam. Most of the available literature on care models for the aged is drawn from developed countries. The review offers insights into the development of care models for the elderly in Vietnam, with the need for inter-professional efforts in practice settings to support the ageing Vietnamese population. The reviewed literature agrees on the developing global challenges due to ageing. Despite the existing literature on care models for the ageing, there is a lack evidence-based care models concerning the current and future needs of elderly care in middle- and lower-income economies like Vietnam. More evidence is required to establish evidence for best care models for the elderly in developing economies.
Research background: In the private sector and on social media, corporate emotional interaction has lately become a hot topic. In the background of the public sector, however, it has scarcely been discussed and very little is known about its determinants and implications. Purpose of the article: This research investigates the role of organizational emotional engagement through relational contracts, senior management receptivity, and upward communication of employees in the public sector in stimulating work satisfaction and job efficiency. Methods: This research was based on data collected between April 1, 2020, and May 31, 2020, from 335 state employees from various governmental organizations in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), Vietnam. To evaluate the hypothesized model, partial least squares-structural equation modeling was used. Findings & value added: Our results illustrate that relational contracts have a powerful effect on emotional engagement. Positive relationships were confirmed between employee engagement and the voice of employees and between employee engagement and job performance. Moreover, the findings also support the role of senior management receptiveness in stimulating organizational emotional engagement. This study addresses questions about absence of academic studies on organizational emotional engagement in the public sector. The results highlight the important role of emotional engagement in stimulating job satisfaction and job performance through relational contracts, senior management receptiveness, and upward employee communication.
Businesses must maintain their ability to adapt in order to remain competitive in today’s ever-evolving industry. They must collect and evaluate data continuously to make educated decisions and take appropriate measures. As a result, since the turn of the 20th century, managers’ preferred areas of interest have been connected to the achievement of their companies. This systematic review aimed to assess the most important methodologies for measuring employee performance in organizations. Using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) technique, the researchers carried out a systematic review on a specific topic. A thorough review of the literature was carried out, with a particular emphasis on articles, research papers, and other materials deemed relevant to the primary approaches for staff performance measurement and their associated factors and other relevant resources. The systematic review findings revealed that collaboration initiatives had positive and statistically significant standard-size effects on employee performance. The use of performance measurement attempts to identify the strengths and weaknesses of employees and to motivate them to improve their performance. Employee performance measurement demonstrates a favorable relationship between performance evaluation and employee inspiration. Performance evaluation schemes should be designed to provide a good treatment perspective of other teammates and the worker’s own aims.
