Objective: to describe the profi le of drug addicts attended in a mental health service, the frequency of suicidal behavior among the participants and the associations between these two problems. Method: an exploratory, retrospective and descriptive study based on a quantitative approach, and data collected from medical records of patients with F10-F19 diagnoses according to the ICD-10 treated in this service in 2013. We expected to identify a possible association between independent variables (family, psychiatric and personal history) and the dependent variable (suicidal behavior). Results: Most of the individuals were men, single, with a low educational attainment, unemployed and aged between 15 and 45 years; 43.90% had a record of suicidal behavior. Conclusion: drug addicts with suicidal behavior are young people under the age of 30 presenting psychiatric comorbidity, mood disorders and/or depression, presence of family confl ict, important dates coinciding with the suicidal behavior and mothers with psychiatric history. RESUMO Objetivo: descrever o perfi l de dependentes químicos atendidos em um serviço de saúde mental, a frequência de comportamento suicida entre os participantes e as associações entre essas duas problemáticas. Método: estudo exploratório, retrospectivo e descritivo baseado em abordagem quantitativa, e dados coletados dos prontuários de pacientes com diagnósticos F10 a F19, segundo a CID10, atendidos no serviço no ano de 2013. Objetivo: Comprender el significado del comportamiento suicida en personas con problemas relacionados con el uso de drogas.Metodología: Estudio cualitativo con enfoque en la teoría de las representaciones sociales, desarrollado en usuarios de un Centro de Atención Psicosocial para el tratamiento de personas en uso abusivo de alcohol y drogas. Se realizaron entrevistassemiestructuradas y una lectura de las historias clínicas de los 22 participantes. El análisis de los resultados se llevó a cabo mediante el análisis de contenido de Laurence Bardin.Resultados: Surgieron las siguientes tres categorías del estudio: Intento de suicidio en personas con problemasrelacionados con el uso de drogas; Contexto de vulnerabilidad del comportamiento suicida en personas con problemas relacionados con el uso de drogas; y Contexto de protección delcomportamiento suicida en personas con problemas relacionados con el uso de drogas.Conclusiones: Las personas con problemas relacionados con el uso de drogas consideran que la conducta suicida se asocia a la desesperación, al descrédito personal, a los trastornos mentales, al abandono de la familia y a la falta de fe. Ellos entienden que hay mayor riesgo de comportamientosuicida entre sí, pero también, que existen factores que actúan como protectores de este comportamiento.
RESUMO: Objetivo: identificar características do comportamento suicida e fatores de risco de homens e mulheres com transtornos psiquiátricos. Método: estudo quantitativo de 410 prontuários de pacientes psiquiátricos em tratamento, de 1997 a 2014, com análise descritiva e inferencial dos prontuários do serviço, no período de abril a dezembro de 2015, em um Centro de Atenção Psicossocial de Divinópolis/Minas Gerais. Resultado: uma maior frequência do comportamento suicida entre as mulheres foi, também, o motivo mais frequente de admissão para tratamento no serviço. A autointoxicação foi mais comum nas mulheres e o enforcamento, nos homens. Na admissão de pacientes com comportamento suicida, foram característicos, das mulheres, o transtorno do humor e, dos homens, os transtornos devido ao uso de substâncias psicoativas. O histórico familiar de suicídio associouse ao comportamento suicida dos homens e à história de abuso físico ou sexual das mulheres. Conclusão: evidenciaram-se particularidades do comportamento suicida entre pacientes psiquiátricos em tratamento em relação ao sexo. Self-poisoning was more common among the women, while hanging was more common among the men. Upon admission for suicidal behavior, the women's characteristics were mood disorders, and the men's were disorders due to the use of psychoactive substances. Suicidal behavior in men was associated with family history of suicide, while among women, it was associated with physical or sexual abuse. Conclusion: Evidence was found for specific characteristics of suicidal behavior among psychiatric patients receiving treatment in relation to gender. Objective: to know the socio-demographic and clinical profile of elderly patients with depressive disorders and the useof psychoactive drugs. Methods: it is a retrospective epidemiological study that analyzed 218 medical records of elderlypatients in a Psychosocial Care Center in a period of 72 months. Results: it was observed that 67.9% of elderly men werepredominantly those aged between 60 and 70 years. Alcohol was the most commonly used drug among men and tobaccoamong women, depression was the most frequent occurrence in both sexes. 53.7% were assisted at a health unit, and thepredominant time of treatment was from 31 to 60 days (47.7%). The patients assisted by the family health teams were lessfrequent (10.5%). Conclusion: the cultural aspects of man’s role in society, easily accessible drugs (alcohol and tobacco) andthe lack of information were the main factors related to depression and the use of drug by the elderly.
