Employees of high technology company often facing rapid and unpredictable changes. This qualitative research aims to explore further how workers with high uncertainty working environment develop their strategies to be survived in this kind of environment. Online ojek driver works in high uncertainty environment where they have no clear employment status. The technology company who employs them only see them as a business partner which their relationship with the company could be terminated anytime. This qualitative research is conducted with phenomenological approach. Six ojek online driver respondents were chosen with minimum criteria: has been working in this field minimum 1 year, play a role as the main income earner in the family, and has the main job as online motor driver. Through a qualitative method with phenomenological approach, data analyzed by data reduction process resulted in five main themes: environmental uncertainty, task identity, values, strategy, and hope and themes of strategy to overcome those work situations and nature. Then the researcher developed an essential description or comprehensive construction about the meaning and the essence of the subjects’ experiences.
Pt. PN is a company engaged in coal mining contractors. One of the vision &mission of PT. PN is becoming a global top 8 company that has excellence in all fields. Business expansion is one of the company's agenda to become an excellent mining company in Indonesia. This research was conducted to identify and map problems in PT PN by using open system model diagnostic method and data collection with qualitative method. The results showed that there are problems in the HRM system, not optimal HRM system because the development program has not been optimal, so it has an impact on employee competence, competency problems then impact on employee readiness on the business expansion agenda. Mentoring program intervention at the deputy project manager level aims to assist the company in carrying out the development process in the company. The intervention of this mentoring program also supports the company's mission in improving the quality of human resources and preparing competent cadres for organizational sustainability.
Technology based company operates in a very dynamic business environment. As one of the fast growing technology company, Qiscus has proven themselves to be able to survived after several major change in their business. This study aimed to find out what strategies taken by Qiscus, as a startup company and how their strategy can be used to deal with this high uncertainty business environment. A qualitative method with case study approach was used to answer these research questions. Data were gathered from 8 informants (2 founders and 6 senior employees). Through the in-depth interview and observation processes, the study found six strategic themes which were then categorized into internal and external strategies. The research findings showed that Qiscus had implemented six strategies: high involvement organization, pivot, building brand image, maintaining users experience, strategic investment and market education. The findings support previous studies that stated organizations with strong internal stakeholder involvement tend to have better performance and productivity.
Job engagement is an essential factor in an organization because its' effect on individual and organizational performance is relatively large. Therefore, researchers need to understand the determinants of work engagement. This study aims to determine the relationship between love of work, perceived organizational support, and psychological well-being with work engagement. As many as 433 Polda Metrojaya police officers participated in this study. The participants came from all work units with a minimum service period of one year. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. Our findings reveal that love of work, perceived organizational support, and psychological well-being have a significant relationship with work engagement (R=.632), with the effective contribution of the three variables reaching 39.9%.
