Length-weight relationship and condition factors in biological fisheries are one of the complementary information that needs to be known in relation to fisheries resource management. This research aims to know the growth pattern and condition factors of Layang fish (Decapterus macrosoma) that caught in Aceh’s province water. The sampling used simple random sampling method conducted from February to March 2019. The sample is the catch of fishermen from the Aceh’s water area that landed at Lampulo Ocean Fishing Port. The Data were analyzed by Linear Allometric Model (LAM), relative weight and Fulton’s condition factors. The results showed that layang fish (Decapterus macrosoma)had a negative allometric growth pattern with a value of b = 2,61. The value of 103,46 from the relative weight conditions factor indicates a stable water condition and the value of 3,00 from the factor of Fulton’s conditions allows the availability of abundant food that support the life of Decapterus macrosomafish well.
The existence of fish aggregating devices (FADs) in a waters is able to establish a new fishing ground that potential waters. FADs are able to attract the attention of the gathering of fishes and other aquayic organisms around it, increasing the density of fish around FADs can increase the chances of successful catching operation, and therefore the FADs has benefited significantly to increase the capture fishery production significantly. The purposes of the research were to evaluate the catching composition of purse seine production using FADs and non FADs, and to examine the fectiveness of FADs. This research was conducted on February 1 - 28, 2018 located at Pusong Waters, Lhokseumawe City. The survey method was used in this study. The direct sampling by following the fisherman in fishing activities was performed both the purse seine with FADs and no FADs. Total purse seine catches during the research were 4,320 kg consisting of Long Jawed Mackerel (Rastrelliger sp.) 1,280 kg (29.63%), Decapterus Fish ( Decapterus sp.) 350 kg (8,107%), skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) 845 kg (19.56 %), tuna fish (Euthynnus affinis) 720 kg (16.67%), Torpedo scad (Megalaspis cordyla) 300 kg (6.94%), Queenfish 140 kg (3.24%), and starry triggerfish (Abalistes stellaris) 685 kg (15.86%). It was concluded that the purse seine used FADs is more effective compared to the a purse seine that does not use FADs.Keberadaan rumpon di suatu perairan mampu menarik perhatian berkumpulnya ikan dan organisme lain disekitarnya, sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil tangkapan ikan.
Fishery management is all efforts that are integrated in laws and regulations in the field of fisheries to achieve sustainable productivity of aquatic biological resources. Fishery management activities in a water area with a high number productivity of fish resources have to pay attention to aspects that can support of goal the achievement of environmentally friendly and sustainable fisheries management. Pidie District is located in the east of Aceh which is directly opposite the Malacca Strait and has a high productivity of fish resources using various fishing gear. The purpose of this study was to determine the management strategy for environmentally friendly fishing gear based on the code of conduct for responsible fisheries (CCRF) in Pidie District. The data analysis method used in this research is descriptive, scoring, and SWOT analysis. The results, strategies used within environmentally friendly capture fisheries management are enhancement, monitoring, and law enforcement upon the un - selective fishing gears that tend to be destructive, optimize human resources in utilizing fish resources to environmentally friendly capture fisheries management in both of pre-production to post – production, improve the capacity of facilities and infrastructure in supporting environmentally friendly capture fisheries operations, monitor fisheries activities as well surrounding areas of port upon the pollution that harms environmental quality order, and socialization upon the used of environmentally friendly current technologies.
Fish length-weight analysisis very important to determine the biological conditions of fishand fish stocks so the management of fish sustainability and biodiversity can be easily done. This research aims to determine the biological aspects of the relationship between the length-weight and condition factors of Indian Scad (Decapterus russelli) which landed at KUD Gabion of Oceanic Fishing Port, North Sumatra. The sampling used simple random sampling method conducted from February to March 2019. The number of samples used was 100 sampel. There are two parameters used in this study, namely, the total length of fish (measured from mouth to tip of tail), measured using a ruler with accuracy of millimeters (mm) and the weight of the fish weighed using a digital scale with accuracy of 1 gr. The Data were analyzed by Linear Allometric Model (LAM). The results showed that Indian Scad (Decapterus russelli) had a negative allometric growth pattern with a value of b=2.39. The value of 100.59 from the factors of relative weight conditions indicated a stable state of the water and a value of 3.04 from the factor of Fulton's condition allowed for availabilityabundant food.
