A retrospective analysis of 206 paediatric and teenage gynaecological disorders seen at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital from January 1984 to December 1993 is presented. The age range was from birth to 19 years, with 94% aged between 12 and 19 years. Abortions constituted the most common gynaecological disorder seen (37.4%), followed by traumatic injury to the genitalia (30.6%). Other frequently seen disorders included ovarian cysts (4.9%), cryptomenorrhoea (4.4%), labial agglutination (3%), ruptured ectopic pregnancy (3%) and hydatidiform mole (1.4%). Management was based on usual, standard gynaecological practice.

The decline in profit growth was felt by food and beverage companies. The purpose of the study was to analyze and interpret the bankruptcy method with Altman's Z-score. The population in this study was 26 food and beverage sub-sector manufacturing companies and samples were taken purposively to 13 food and beverage sub- sector manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia stock exchange in 2018-2020. The results in this study provide an explanation that Altman's Z-score analysis should continue to be reviewed because it becomes a benchmark for the financial condition of the company in every period so that it can be a good signal for investors if the company strives to maintain financial stability.
Epithelial carcinoma of the ovary is a gynecological malignancy associated with high mortality
rate due to diagnosis in advanced stages, which occurs in more than 75% of the cases.
Recent strategies in reducing mortality have been studied, however screening tests have not
demonstrated to help in the diagnosis at early stages. Subjective impression of the examiner
using transvaginal ultrasound is considered the best method to discriminate between benign
and malignant adnexal tumors. The International Ovarian Tumor Analysis Group (IOTA) based
on ultrasound features of the adnexal masses, has developed robust rules and prediction
models that can be used by different examiners in various clinical settings. In Chile during
2012, national guidelines about epithelial ovarian cancer were published, establishing referral
and management criteria. Little mention about ultrasound exam was included: all “solid
tumors or complex adnexal masses” are sonographic criteria to refer patients to gynecologic
oncology units. Considering that many functional or benign pathologies can be classified as
“complex tumors”, it is important to use validated prediction models to improve accuracy of
ultrasonography and therefore optimize the referral to gynecological oncologists and avoid
surgeries of misclassified adnexal pathologies.
Ageism is a type of age discrimination among the elderly population. The article presents the results of a study of the manifestations of ageism among 1st and 4th year students of the medical faculty of the Educational Institution "Belarusian State Medical University". It is shown that students recognize the problem of age discrimination among the elderly in society. The index of the urgency of the problem of ageism for medical students was 42.1. Among the fourth-year students, in comparison with the first-year students, there are fewer respondents who are optimistic about their own old age, but there are more of those who are able to actively avoid old age. The prevalence of gerontological stereotypes among medical students is high. Stereotypes change in the learning process of the respondents, but they do not disappear. The respondents believe that the most important reasons for the emergence of ageism are not only gerontological stereotypes, but also the unwillingness to communicate with the elderly because of their own fear of old age or the psychological difficulty of communicating with the elderly. Medical students treat the elderly well and characterize them with positive epithets. The tendency of students of a medical university to unintentional ageism was revealed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
