The aims of this study was to find out whether or not refufation technique can increase the students’ reading comprehension of the second grade students of SMA Hasanuddin Gowa. This research employed pre-experimental method which one class was given pre-test, treatment and post-test. The population of this research was the second grade students of SMA Hasanuddin Gowa. The total sample consisted of 24 students and it is used purposive sampling technique. The instrument was reading text in order to measure the students’ reading comprehension skill by using refutation technique. The result of the data showed that by using reputation technique in reading comprehension was effective in improving the students’ reading skill. In other words, the finding indicated that using refutation technique in teaching reading comprehension was able to improve the students’ skill in reading. Based on the result of the data showed that there was a significant difference between the pre-test mean score (45.04), and the post-test mean score (71.83). It can be concluded that the use of refutation technique in reading comprehension can be improved at SMA Hasanuddin Makassar.
The objective of the research is to find out whether or not Piling up Sentences can improve the students’ vocabulary ability of the second year of SMP 2 Enrekang. This research employed pre-experimental method which one class was given pre-test, treatment and post-test. The population of this research was the second grade students of SMP 2 Enrekang. The total sample consisted of 30 students and it is used purpose sampling technique. The instrument was noun test in order to measure the students’ vocabulary ability in learning process by using piling up sentences technique. The finding of the data indicated that by using piling up sentences technique in teaching vocabulary was affective to improve the students’ vocabulary ability at SMPN 2 Enrekang. In other words, the finding showed that by using piling up sentences technique the researcher found that the students understanding on noun was increased significantly. Based on the result of the data showed that there was a significant difference between the students’ mean scores in pot-test was higher than the pre-test (8,8>6,5). While the T-test value was higher than T-table value (9,7>2.045). Based on the findings and discussion of the research, the researcher concluded that Piling Up sentences technique is effective in improving the students’ vocabulary ability at second grade students of SMP 2 Enrekang. Based on the finding of the research it could be concluded that the use of Piling Up technique in teaching vocabulary can improve the students’ vocabulary ability at SMP 2 Enrekang. It can be concluded that the use of piling up sentences is an effective activity to make the students active in learning vocabulary ability particularly noun at SMPN 2 Enrekang.
The objective of the research is to find out whether or not the use of consonant vowel consonant (CVC) word game strategy to increase the students' vocabulary at the second grade of SMP Ujung Pandang Makassar. The research applied pre-experimental method. The population of this research was the second grade students of SMP Ujung Pandang Makassar in 2018/2019 academic year, it consists of two classes VII 1 and VII 2, each class consist of 23 students. The total population was 46 students. The researcher used purposive sampling technique. The total sample of this research was 23 students. The result of the data analysis showed that the students' vocabulary achievement, in the pre-test was X1 = 55.5 and the post-test was X2 = 82.06. The result of the t-test value was (14.69) greater than the t-table value was (2.074). This indicates that the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. In other word, after the treatment, it can be concluded that the mean score of the students' pre-test is smaller than the mean score of the students' post-test (55.5 < 82.06). It means that the use of CVC word can increase the students' vocabulary mastery in English.
The objective of this research is to find out English Contest Technique in improving the self-confidence of the third grade students to speak English. In this research, the researcher uses pre-experimental method. The total sample was 42 students and it used cluster sampling technique. The results showed that the students' mean scores in pre-test of the first cycle was 5.29 and the mean score of the second cycle was 6.62. Based on the data above, the researcher concluded that the use of English Contest Technique can improve the third grade students' self-confidence in speaking English.
The objective of this research is to find out whether or not the Implementation of 7 Smart Strategy Reading can improve the reading comprehension of the first grade students of SMA 9 Makassar. The research used pre-experimental method. The population of this research was the first grade students of SMA 9 Makassar. The sample was 20 students. Based on the result of the data, there was a significant difference between pre-test and post-test of the students' improvement in reading comprehension. It indicated by the mean score of students' post-test which was higher than the mean score of the students' pre-test (86.5>64). Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the implementation of 7 Smart Reading Strategy can improve the students' reading comprehension. 7 Smart Reading Strategy, students' reading comprehension
